Regular Member Pearson Posted December 31, 2009 Regular Member Share Posted December 31, 2009 Here are my 11 month "before and after" comparison shots for my 2500 graft transplant by Dr. Rahal. I am quite happy about the results. I'm also getting compliments from friends who know I've had the procedure.
Senior Member hair_care Posted December 31, 2009 Senior Member Share Posted December 31, 2009 Looks pretty good, however you are going to need at least another 3000+ grafts to get full coverage. Regular Member Joe Posted December 31, 2009 Regular Member Share Posted December 31, 2009 I agree, it's a great start. I'd be very pleased with these results. A large area to cover but with where you're at, it's made a wonderful difference! Joe M.
Regular Member Pearson Posted January 1, 2010 Author Regular Member Share Posted January 1, 2010 This is my third hair transplant. My previous two transplants in 1997 were for 500 and 2,000 grafts. So what you're seeing now is a total of 5,000 transplanted grafts. I am pretty sure that every hair that you see on the top of my head is a transplanted hair. I would be a NW6 without any transplants. For this latest surgery, 2500 is the most that Dr. Rahal could get because of my scalp laxity, hair density, and previous scars. Although he did say that if I should decide to have another procedure in the future, there remain another approximately 1,000 grafts to work with. I will probably not do anything for at least another 10 years, and see how things progress.
Raphael84
Without doubt, a good solid improvement. More obvious in some shots than others at various angles. I believe this to be a prime example where Dr Rahal is showing his creativeness. In what could be seen as a slightly more complicated case where the odds may be somewhat against him, regarding the below average donor and laxity site, the area necessary to cover and previous scarring. The 3 main locations that have been highlighted on the pre HT images seem to have really assisted the patient with a fuller illusion of density. Considering Pearsons comments, he seems to be a very happy patient!
