Senior Member Take a chance Posted February 3, 2010 Senior Member Share Posted February 3, 2010 How does the scar situation work with your second hair transplant procedure? Do you now have two scars or do they somehow join them into one? Im now at 11 months post and doing scalp exercises for next ht. Any advice would be great. Thanks. Senior Member Take a chance Posted February 3, 2010 Author Senior Member Share Posted February 3, 2010 Thanks Sparky After emailing my Doc he said The scar is a concern whether you should go with the same scar or new scar. Any idea what he could mean?
Senior Member BigBill1234 Posted February 3, 2010 Senior Member Share Posted February 3, 2010 He may think there is reason to believe if he uses the same scar it may stretch? That's my guess.
Senior Member Sparky Posted February 4, 2010 Senior Member Share Posted February 4, 2010 I think almost everyone on here would tell you to take out the old scar, so you still only have one scar after, whos your surgeon? Senior Member .. Posted February 4, 2010 Senior Member Share Posted February 4, 2010 Not every doctor takes out the old scar going into the new one , as seen recently with some people having multiple scars at the back.

Senior Member Maxxy Posted February 4, 2010 Senior Member Share Posted February 4, 2010 Take a chance, How wide is your previous scar? Perhaps the doctor is concerned that they won't be able to get the required amount of grafts and remove the old scar due to laxity issues. If I was you, I would email the doctor back and ask them for the exact reason of their concern.
Senior Member Take a chance Posted February 4, 2010 Author Senior Member Share Posted February 4, 2010 Thanks for all the replies. My previous procedure was quite large over 4000 grafts. I will email Doc and let you know what he says.
