Regular Member Recession1 Posted July 19, 2023 Regular Member Share Posted July 19, 2023 Has anybody tried Dutasteride at the 2.5mg dose? If so any success in maintaining or growing hair over .5mg? I know there is clinical evidence of it being more effective than .5mg but wanted to hear of any one having positive results. Thanks
Senior Member Curious25 Posted July 19, 2023 Senior Member Share Posted July 19, 2023 That’s a heavy dosage ! But yes, you are correct - the studies point towards a correlation between the highest efficacy shown from the patients taking the higher end dosages.
Valued Contributor A_4_Archan Posted July 19, 2023 Valued Contributor Share Posted July 19, 2023 @Recession1 yeh some studies shows that the higher doss will have better efficacy but you have to take care of side effects too as 2.5 mg(if you are talking about per day dosage) is very high so would say think 100 times before considering this as general health is more important than hairs... Abs1029
I would advise building up to 2.5mg if that is the dose you plan to take. It will take time for the drug to build up in your system, so you're fine until you're not!

Regular Member Recession1 Posted July 21, 2023 Author Regular Member Share Posted July 21, 2023 How do you figure? Based on clinical results the hair count was far superior to .5mg of Dutasteride and way more effective than 1mg of finasteride. If you don’t have side effects and you still have a lot of hair it’s the best chance of holding onto all the hair you have for a very long time.
