Shaved it down to a 6 guard on top and 3 at the sides last week again cos of the crown. note could not resist changing my user name to a bad pun. 😆 Looks perfect. congratulations! The top hair appears darker now compared to the sides and the pre-transplant top hair. Are you using any thickening products or hair dye in that picture? How is your donor areas looking with the 3 length on the sides? Can you see the scars at 3 or 2 length? Edited February 27 by Newby888

My hair can look somewhat grey on top depending on the light, but I am pretty grey at the sides. I also haven’t dyed my hair but it’s an option I am considering when the crown is grown out after the 2nd op. Here are pics taken after shaving it down. The hair will look more dense when grown out of course. The donor looks ok I guess but let me know what you think.

Senior Member Hairwolf Posted March 4 Author Senior Member Share Posted March 4 (edited) Guess would have to get a proper skin fade to a 1 guard to see if there are any dot marks. I can’t see any on the sides either, but I remember seeing them about 6 weeks post-op (you can see my 1st batch of pics and you should be able to see it) Edited March 4 by Hairwolf
Senior Member Hairwolf Posted April 1 Author Senior Member Share Posted April 1 (edited) Right so at the 8 and a half month mark here. Haven’t really noticed a dramatic difference- hairline might be a bit more defined and bit more growth in zone 3 perhaps. Anyway happy enough so anything more is the cherry on the cake really. Shaved it down just over a week ago again to a 6 on top and 3 at the sides first 9 and the last 2 pics are from the 8 month mark and the following are from a week ago leading up to a couple of days ago, witj different lighting for context. looking forward to the 2nd crown op in July. Booked in January as just as well as like others have reported , I have difficulty reaching the Dr at the minute. Senior Member Hairwolf Posted July 10 Author Senior Member Share Posted July 10 (edited) So lads-and lassies? I just got my 2nd op done yesterday and pics are from 24 hour post op. Got 2500 more done from zones 4 going all the back into the dipped crown. 2500 was what I estimated and so concurred with the Dr’s quote. I also enquired about the left hairline if, as I suspected, it needed a touch up. Dr Laorwong confirmed that it could do with another 50 grafts or so. Everything is easier 2nd time around, know the area, the procedure and what to expect etc. After shaving the head-thought it’s better to take all measures to secure a successful result- and dye the grey hairs in the donor and the top it kicked off at 8.30 and was done surprisingly quick-for me at least at 3pm. I was more heavily bandaged with shrink wrap put on this time which I wondered about at the time. Stay tuned to find out more. Paid with credit card and no problems and I asked if I could wear my trusty gangsta bandanna but that was no possible due to the bandaging and the ointment etc. sauntered back to the hotel-staying at Cascade this time, on the same road as the clinic and unlike last year where I was in a state of hysteria looking on Google map and getting a little lost trying to get back to my room. I actually stopped for a coffee first before casually walking to the hotel and up to the room. I then chilled out before ordering grab food for dinner. Later that evening I went to the 7-11 next door and stocked up on a few things including some beer which I will have in another couple of days (discipline😀). Slept around 1 am, upright and with the neck pillow with no need for the Valium provided. Next day, went to the clinic for wash, wound treatment and LLLT asked the nurse to take a few pics. Was a little concerned when I saw some blood spots scattered around so I asked the nurse was everything ok and she said it’s normal and the hairs are ok. However before the LLLT session, Dr Laorwong came in with the loupes and says it seems some of the grafts popped out so he very quickly got some tweezers and put them back in- I think- or maybe pulled them out? (was a little panicked at the time). I asked him if they needed to extract some more to replace and he said no need. So will wait and see about the next few days. Also met a nice lad who had a rather harrowing flight from the US and who is also a member of this forum. If you are out there feel free to shout out! t was so good to speak to someone so candidly about our hair loss life situation, discussing the surgery and treatment and research etc . He has responded well to oral minoxidil. Hope to see you around man! Also attached are some recent pre op pics. As always comments are appreciated. Senior Member Hairwolf Posted July 19 Author Senior Member Share Posted July 19 (edited) Update after 10 days post op. The clinic has improved its aftercare, incorporating antibiotic ointment into the protocol rather than wash and using saline solution like last year. Therefore, the scabbing was therefore better than last year, where i scabbed up pretty badly. Got the all clear from the Dr after the 5th day and asked him to send the op report, but as he said, he's too busy even for that, so he got me to take a pic of the report: attached. They gave me some ointment, which I contined to use until day 7 post op, after which i used aloe vera on the recipient area-that also helped with scabbing. I again started using aloe vera on the donor 2-3 days post op, and believe you should use liberally. pics are in ascending order, from 3 days postop continued to day 4-9 days post-op. Senior Member Hairwolf Posted July 19 Author Senior Member Share Posted July 19 (edited) Day 10, soaked recipient area in olive oil and gently worked out any remaining scabs. Have some pimples now in the lower crown area so using antibiotic lotion provided by the clinic. Additionally, been using baby shampoo since about day 7 also.
