Is Revela efficacious or snake oil?

This is from an article published in Vanity Fair. Is Revela efficacious at slowing down hair loss, or is it snake oil? Should one replace monoxidil for Revela?

“Looking for hair loss treatments can be pretty discouraging,” says Evan Zhao, PhD. “When you ask your dermatologist, they’ll usually say ‘we don’t have anything that works well for women.’ That can be really frustrating.”

It was that frustration—and the lack of hair loss treatment options on the market—that led Zhao, along with fellow Harvard scientist David Zhang, MIT and Princeton data scientist Avi Boppana, and beauty expert Evelyn Chen to form the brand Revela. They were soon joined by formulation and scientific communications specialists Gloria Lu and Victoria Fu. Together, they used AI to sift through millions of compounds, eventually discovering a new ingredient called ProCelinyl. In clinical trials, the initial results were pretty astounding: 97% of participants saw improvements in the appearance of their hair after just six weeks. For that reason, Revela has the strongest guarantee on the market: If you don’t see results in two months, you’ll get your money back, no questions asked.

“In this whole space, there hasn’t been a lot of innovation for the last thirty years,” says Zhao. “It’s too bad because ingredient and chemical discovery over the last thirty years has exploded—our capabilities are ten thousand times better than what they were before.” In fact, the results are so impressive, that the brand has already garnered rave reviews from consumers who are thrilled to finally have a solution to hair loss that truly works. Here, Zhao discusses the issues that cause hair loss, the current treatment options for both men and women, and how Revela’s Hair Revival Serum with ProCelinyl goes right to the root to redefine hair loss for good.

Looks like the page is down. There are only a few things that actually work that are natural. Saw palmetto, pumpkin seed oil, rosemary oil, castor oil. The problem is that usually they’re packaged in a treatment that is vastly over priced. The highest dosed topical dutasteride cost $129 per month. These oil’s usually cost around the same for treatments that have no where near the same efficacy.
