Weak donor?

I’m concerned about my donor… what do you guys think? I feel like it’s not as thick as it once was. I’m 35 and have a hair transplant consultation in a month. You think it’s adequate or do you think I have miniaturization? Bottom one is wet. Thanks

You think? It’s weird… seems like when I feel the back of my head and sides it feels thinner than on the top of my head which is thinning. Lots of small little hairs… maybe I just have thin hair… I don’t know… makes me nervous

It’s extremely difficult to judge over photos. It really depends on hair miniaturization which can really be seen under a lense.

I would suggest having your consultation search for signs of DUPA if you’re concerned and perhaps doing some lab work for any auto immune issues. If you have insurance in the states it’ll probably cost you 20-30 depending on your insurance (co-pay amt).

your back and sides could also feel thinner depending on how you wash and dry your hair as well. Most of the time when we sleep it gets pressed against the pillow which can make it seem like it’s thinner.

explore your options for surgery whether its FUT, fue, and so forth.

Give us some more details on what you hope to accomplish with a transplant.  You look great in the photos.  Wanting to touch-up the front?

Yes wanting to touch up the front. Going to Dr Konior. My front has receded and thinned. He estimated 2,000 grafts. Wanting to bring hairline down to frame my face to make forehead look not as tall and then reinforce miniaturized hairs in the frontal third to add density. I’m 35 and am on Dutasteride and oral minoxidil. I started receiding and thinning at 23 so it has been slow progression over the last decade.

@Recession1,

As far as I can tell by the photos, your donor area looks good. Thankfully, you also seem to have a great deal of your natural hair as well.

You haven’t presented too many photos of your hairline, but you have stated that it has recessed and thinned out a bit.  Given your age of 35, you are likely a good candidate for surgery assuming that all of the other variables makes sense as well.

I trust that you’re going through with an actual information session with a qualified doctor would provide you with the information you need to determine whether or not you’re a good candidate and if so, how many grafts would be recommended.

Best wishes,

Sounds like 2,000 grafts will do nicely in the front.  Best of luck.
