Regular Member webathon Posted April 23, 2023 Regular Member Share Posted April 23, 2023 The topical is 0.1% Dutasteride and 10% Minoxidil. I'm assuming the dropper is 1ml. I applied 1ml to my head and after a few hours had a few irregular heartbeats. The following day my heart felt kinda weird and I had muscle twitches in my legs which was also a new occurrence. I've been taking 2.5mg oral minoxidil with no side effects. Why would applying 1ml of 10 minoxidil topically give me these weird side effects? Maybe there was a mistake in the compounding pharmacy? Administrators Melvin- Admin Posted April 23, 2023 Administrators Share Posted April 23, 2023 It’s possible it wasn’t compounded correctly. But regardless 10% is quite high. 2.5 mg is equivalent to 2.5% minoxidil. Perhaps you need to lower the concentration of minoxidil, or stick to dutasteride on its own and take minoxidil orally. Valued Contributor A_4_Archan Posted April 23, 2023 Valued Contributor Share Posted April 23, 2023 Yeh possible that it may be wrongly compounded ...or may be your body cudnt tolerate it....if you can tolerate 2.5mg oral minoxidil thn thts good..it will most probably give you better result than topical one....bt if you get side effects thn you should consult a doctor...by the way many doctors are prescribing such a high dose of topical minoxidil ...in my country 10% topical minoxidil is sold as an otc product ....but i don't think so tht 10% is required ...for topical 5% would be enough ... This is what I have read and seen for myself after having 10% compounded thinking more would be better. i think the reg 5% or the 2.5 mg pill is the best dosage for now in my experience.
