Regular Member Nasau Posted April 16, 2023 Regular Member Share Posted April 16, 2023 Hello all - i had hair transplants two years ago (great results!). Unfortunately i spent some time in the sun the other day for a wedding and my scalp was burned - mostly in the area of my transplants. I am really disappointed in myself and worried i usually wear a hat but wasn't able to bc of the wedding attire etc. Can thoughts on this? Should i worry? Thanks ! Valued Contributor Gatsby Posted April 17, 2023 Valued Contributor Share Posted April 17, 2023 Your transplanted hair will be affected no differently to your native hair. All good. Regular Member Nasau Posted April 17, 2023 Author Regular Member Share Posted April 17, 2023 Thank you both! I have read a lot about how sunburn on the scalp can cause hair loss (to native hair mostly) and/or interrupt a hair growth cycle. It has been a month now since my burn and haven't noticed any significant shedding which is good. But any thoughts on that?
Regular Member duckling Posted April 17, 2023 Regular Member Share Posted April 17, 2023 Hair loss due to scalp irritation is mostly temporary. Try to cover scalp from next time but no point worrying about hair which will eventually grow back in sometime.
