  1. Any thoughts or personal experience using a derma micro needle roller on their scalp to promote hair growth?
  2. Thank you both! I have read a lot about how sunburn on the scalp can cause hair loss (to native hair mostly) and/or interrupt a hair growth cycle. It has been a month now since my burn and haven't noticed any significant shedding which is good. But any thoughts on that?
  3. Hello all - i had hair transplants two years ago (great results!). Unfortunately i spent some time in the sun the other day for a wedding and my scalp was burned - mostly in the area of my transplants. I am really disappointed in myself and worried i usually wear a hat but wasn't able to bc of the wedding attire etc. Can thoughts on this? Should i worry? Thanks !
  4. Thanks! I have since found another doc who is great - and one recommended on the network
  5. Thanks :) yes, i moved on a while ago but also think everyone deserves to know. i think with women especially, only success stories get shared bc of stigma/embarrassment of FPHL
  6. I have had hair transplants and other procedures done with Dr. Houssock over a year ago, and I have been really unhappy with the results of all these procedures. Dr. Houssock has a lot of confidence and she can be really fun in the consultations, which makes you feel secure and confident with the procedures you have chosen with her. This is great if you end up happy with your results, however if you are not, she has a way of making you feel like its your/your body's fault that your results didn't turn out great. It was clear that she wont ever admit it was something done on their ends. With the transplants, the office only spends about half the day on the procedure, while many other reputable places will spend a full day doing it - this is because there are some small short cuts, etc. that can be taken in transplants. Sadly I only discovered this after but encourage everyone to do that research. Secondly, the staff/assistants at the office have a tendency to provide medical answers/instructions, even though they are clearly not in a position to do so. I had several follow up questions I called about in my post-op days and instead of allowing me to ask Dr. Houssock, the assistants answered directly. In my post-op visit with Dr Houssock, I asked the same questions and was given a very different answer - Dr. Houssock even laughed that I had done what I did (as instructed when I called). Lastly, I asked the office not to mail anything to me that had their logo/info clearly on envelope - I had this discussion several times and with several people to ensure they wouldnt. And then I still received a big envelope w/ their info and logo all over the front. I didnt even get so much as an "I'm sorry" when I called the office about it but I think privacy is something they should take more seriously.
  7. Thanks for your reply - perhaps as a young woman experiencing hair loss though, I don't really see it as an enjoyable ride. Hence why I was hoping for some insights - I understand there's no research on these topics, as I mentioned in the question - but often medical experts can make educated suggestions based on the biology/technology of certain procedures.
  8. Hello everyone, I had an exosome treatment done one month ago and am hoping to get the covid vaccine asap. However, I am worried about any effects it may have on the exosomes (either diminishing the effects or adverse side effects). Particularly apprehensive given the lack research on both exosomes and the vaccines - and that they both use mRNA technologY. Any insights? Thanks!

  10. thanks again @DrTBarghouthi. Sorry, I guess I meant risk in regards to my new transplants. But it sounds like we just don't know at this point. I'm just really protective of them as it has only been a month & is my second time going through the procedure. Thanks for your opinion though! Very helpful
  11. thanks @DrTBarghouthi. Would you say there is less risk associated with Johnson and Johnson compared to Pfizer - based on the new RNA technology of Pfizer - or is it just very unclear?
  12. Hello, I am one month post op and am eligible for the covid vaccine. I'm very apprehensive about the effects it could have on my new grafts given the lack of research on these new vaccine technologies. If i were 6 months+ post op I would feel less nervous but as many of you know, your hair is sensitive to the smallest changes in your body. I also experienced some shock loss to the donor site - it is my second procedure. My doctor says the recommended time is to wait at least one month post op, but he was frank in saying that this is based on the biology of the vaccines but there is no clear information yet. I have also seen that the covid virus itself can cause hair loss - so there is also a risk in not getting vaccinated. Has anyone gotten the vaccine after a recent transplant? If so, which vaccine was it? Any insights?
