Senior Member Jojo Posted March 14, 2009 Senior Member Share Posted March 14, 2009 hi there, i had a ht bout 5 months ago, its coming alone very well. I was wondering if your hair gets any denser as the months progress or in other words is the density i have now as dense at its gonna get? I know the individual hairs need to mature and all, I tried taken some close up pics but they all came out crap. Today the density looked good other days it looks a little thin. I had about 2500gfts in the temples and re-established the hairline. My doc said I'd have good coverage like 75%. Any suggestions thank in advance

Senior Member hoose Posted March 14, 2009 Senior Member Share Posted March 14, 2009 at 5 months you have not even achieved 50% of the final density; as a general rule, at 6 months you have achieved 50% of the final results; you should not evaluate the final results until 1 year; the HT can still mature after 1 year; possible not to reach full maturity until 16-18 months. Senior Member mmhce Posted March 15, 2009 Senior Member Share Posted March 15, 2009 Jojo, hoose is right. Here is a basic time line of your hair regrowth: 1. HT graft shed, first few weeks, 2. Shock loss shed, within first month after HT genrally 3. 4 months, 30% restoration, 4. 6 months about 50%, 5. 8-12 months 80% restoration, 6. 15-18 months 100% restoration. take care... Senior Member MrJobi Posted March 15, 2009 Senior Member Share Posted March 15, 2009 Density aside, there are cosmetic differences of the hair as it matures. Expect the hair to be a bit coarse at first. You can actually see it in pictures ( from my own expereince) as opposed to the final product of 1 months. Its a nice ride ! Senior Member mmhce Posted March 15, 2009 Senior Member Share Posted March 15, 2009 Expect the hair to be a bit coarse at first. Mr. Jobi, Do you mean that the transplanted hair thins afterwards? Or the shaft of the hair grows a bit "irregularly" at first, and thens become a bit straighter? take care...
