Regular Member kumardarshan Posted August 28, 2022 Regular Member Share Posted August 28, 2022 I notice some hairs to change to grey / white after applying rogaine 5% on beard hairs. The whole hair is black but is white from the root. Is this normal or common?
Senior Member Vann Posted August 28, 2022 Senior Member Share Posted August 28, 2022 I think I read something about this and that it is temporary. But I would consult with others and perhaps a physician if this is normal or if it is due to some alternative cause. Senior Member HappyMan2021 Posted August 28, 2022 Senior Member Share Posted August 28, 2022 ...are you sure your hair isn't turning grey from normal aging? Rogaine is an incredibly popular and well-researched medication, used by tens of millions of men throughout the world. If greyness was a side-effect I'm pretty sure it would be really well known.
Regular Member kumardarshan Posted August 28, 2022 Author Regular Member Share Posted August 28, 2022 It could be due to shock loss. I jus had beard transplant and I am post shedding phase. It is not part of aging as my whole beard is black.
Valued Contributor Gatsby Posted August 29, 2022 Valued Contributor Share Posted August 29, 2022 I’ve been using topical minoxidil again for the past three months. I have beard and scalp grafts and I haven’t noticed the beard hair (or scalp) changing color from its use. Perhaps speak with your dermatologist. All the best. 1 GATSBY 'UNPLUGGED!' 15,671 (3 surgeries) Grafts FUE+BHT Dr. Sethi Eugenix
