Regular Member Dboozer Posted July 12, 2022 Regular Member Share Posted July 12, 2022 Hello everyone, a little while back I made a post asking about what your guys thoughts were on a hair transplant for someone my age. A couple of you were concerned about the young age, but I decided to get some consultations from doctors to get there opinion as well. Dr. Luis Nader gave me a very fair offer (less than 6000 USD) for this procedure and went ahead and had it completed today, July 11 2022. Below I have pictures post-op and one day before op. The procedure lasted about six hours extraction and implementation. Overall it was a good experience and hope to post updates as the months go on. Feel free to ask any questions, I'll respond as time allows

Regular Member Dboozer Posted July 22, 2022 Author Regular Member Share Posted July 22, 2022 (edited) 10 day update. Most of the scabs are gone so I wanted to show a picture of the implanted area. The healing process wasn't very bad for me and didn't cause much discomfort. Edited July 22, 2022 by Dboozer Added info
Regular Member Dboozer Posted July 22, 2022 Author Regular Member Share Posted July 22, 2022 Here is a picture of the donor area. I'm surprised after 10 days how unnoticeable it is. There is a few select scabs within this area, but as far as any discomfort I haven't noticed any problems. I will be posting another update in a month or two but I'm glad how it's turn out so far. Senior Member HairEnthusiast101 Posted August 22, 2022 Senior Member Share Posted August 22, 2022 Was the goal of your procedure to lower hairline? Or is the area where hair is transplanted to fill in existing hairline?

No, it wasn't a "headband" of transplanted hair. Most of the transplant was indeed in the bald temples, but Nader did went back about half inch or so into my actual hairline to fill in the the thinning areas. This insures you don't have an odd strip of thinning hair behind your transplanted hair.

Either way, happy growing and it already looks like the results will be awesome!

Regular Member Dboozer Posted September 2, 2022 Author Regular Member Share Posted September 2, 2022 UPDATE. I'm coming up close to 2 months and I'm about to get my first haircut soon, so I wanted to show the natural growth results so far. Obviously the results aren't in yet. (In fact it's not an invalid argument to say I might like worse than before) But, being so soon after surgery I wanted to posts a couple photos of the "ugly duckling stage" so when I post more photos down the road we can look at these in comparison. The first couple weeks my hairline was awesome. But after about week 4 to 5 I experienced more of the shockloss and my hairline has returned to a similar state as before. That's to be expected. However I do see hairs sticking there way out of the transplanted area so I'm excited to see how that goes! Here's a couple photos for the meantime. I'm going to have the sides of my head shaved to a 0 so I can posts pictures of any possible scarring once I get my haircut, although I doubt there is any scarring considering Dr. Nader's work. Thank you guys for the support!

Regular Member Dboozer Posted September 11, 2022 Author Regular Member Share Posted September 11, 2022 Update. Two months in and got my first haircut. A couple people following this post are considering Dr. Nader and I want to be extra detailed on the recovery side of things, so I've sent out a couple photos doing just that. The two donor sides are completely healed with no visible lacerations or holes. (The couple brown spots that you do see are freckles, which I've had for at least a couple of years) The front pic is to show that redness from the transplanted area is still present about half an inch down from the original hairline. It doesnt bother me very much, but it is noticeable. Average time I've heard for the redness to stay is three months, so don't be shocked when it persists till then. Overall not too much has changed since my update about 10 days ago. This was more of a recovery post than a growth post. I estimate the next update to be in about a month or month and a half, this next update will again focus on the recovery side of things and to show if the redness has cleared by then. If I have any noticeable gains in my hair coverage I will discuss that as well. I once again thank everyone for the support, and if you have any questions feel free to hit me up here or on my dms.

Regular Member Dboozer Posted October 28, 2022 Author Regular Member Share Posted October 28, 2022 (edited) Update. 3 1/2 months in. The red scarring finally became invisible a couple of days ago. There is a tint of red here and there, but it is so unnoticeable that I don't even notice it anymore, let alone others noticing. My hair length is now once again about the same length as I usually kept it, and looking at older photos I think some of the shockloss has subsided from the initial surgery. The transplanted area has started to once again grow out. I would say right now about 10-20% of it is growing out in those areas. Even with that little amount it has shown a noticeable effect on the side views of my hair, especially on the left facing side photo. Other than that things have been going about how I expected and all is well. This will probably be my last update for awhile. Next update will come at the 6 month mark. As always I appreciate the read and if you have any questions feel free to dm me. I'm not as active on this site as I used to be but if I see your message I will respond eventually. Thanks everyone! Regular Member Dboozer Posted February 1, 2023 Author Regular Member Share Posted February 1, 2023 UPDATE I'm a couple weeks late on the 6 month update, but here we go anyway! Right now I would say I have about 80-90% of the transplanted hairs grown out. The density became much more noticable around the first of January, so I wanted to wait about one month to see where we were at. Although the hair has shown great progress, it's unfortunate to say that this look is still best suited for a short cut on the sides. My side hair is still way too thick to look good compared to the top of my head, but that fact that I can actually rock some bangs again is enough for me. So far I'm still really pleased with the result, I might try to see if I can make my hairline straighter a couple of years down the road, but so far this has been pretty good. It's been a long day for me so I'm going to end it here, but I kinda want to make a post comparing more before/after pictures and the positive psychological effects this surgery has had for me. As for an actual update, I'm thinking either around the 9 or 12 month mark. As always feel free to reach out about any questions!
