Regular Member Rmp Posted November 1, 2021 Regular Member Share Posted November 1, 2021 I’m a little over 2 weeks post op, and am absolutely itching to get back into the gym - I’m sure a lot of us are familiar with the irrational feeling of being “smaller” after only a relatively short period of taking it easy. My clinic stated that after 2 weeks I should be solid - but look at previous posts here came up with others being told 3-4, or even longer. Is there any kind of agreement on when weightlifting is safe post op? When did you return to the gym? Would appreciate any input.
Senior Member Gokuhairline Posted November 1, 2021 Senior Member Share Posted November 1, 2021 i returned exactly 1 month later just cause i was taking an extra long break but i think some have returned as soon as 10 days so at 2 weeks you should be good. i'd say just wait 1 more week...PS do you take or plan on taking creatine ? Senior Member Curious25 Posted November 1, 2021 Senior Member Share Posted November 1, 2021 Go off your own surgeons recommended guidelines, but most return to exercise 14 days post op.

I don’t take creatine anymore - while it’s true that there’s no “conclusive” evidence that it has an effect on MPB, it is shown to increase DHT levels. I’d rather not take the risk personally, i have no intention of being competitive or anything.
