1500 grafts over such a wide area isn’t really good to make much difference in your overall density. Which clinic did you have it done ? Was this a tech based ht or from a Bosley like chain clinic ?

Chain clinic ( think bolsey, maxim, etc)

Was this a mistake?

Yup thought so. Unfortunately it’s not very refined transplant, sorry man but you have noticed it’s different already. Can you show your donor area ? Or any other pre and post op pics ?

The planning is poor, the density isn’t going to be anywhere near what’s needed to make a impactful difference. Doesn’t look like a great hairline was created. Let’s hope multi grafts were not implanted in the first row.
Lets focus on the positives though, they have not used a large number of grafts. And you should definitely have growth ! It just might be necessary to find another clinic to refine and add density where needed. Sorry I’m just trying to let you know what to expect.

I didn't address my hairline at all - the 1500 are directly in the front graft - im 24 hours post-op. Maybe it'll be okay? What do you think?

They have gone pretty close to the hairline from what I can see, more pics will help. Just hope for growth 🤞and natural angles

Here’s another pic. Does this give any more insight or more of the same for you?

From what I can see you have quite a lot of hair already around the hairline? Was the goal for this procedure to boost your current density across the whole area?

Yes it was. The goal was just to increase the density in the frontal scalp

Do you mind sharing a before photo? Given the length of the existing hair at 24 hours post op, it looks like you wear hair somewhat short and did not shave for the procedure? In that case I don’t think this is a bad thing, because you have existing hair and 1500 grafts to supplement what you had before yesterday.

Can you share your donor as well? Some of the guys here might as well be professional consultants with the amount of time and research they’ve put into the subject to better their own lives. Utilize them and arm them with enough to give you the answer you are looking for :) cheers

I cant believe these clinics like Bosley are still around with the ability to research on your own on the internet nowadays, you better give away that money to some homeless person so it atleast give some value.

Is it really that bad :/

I know you mean well Digi, and whilst I fundamentally agree with your sentiment, just remember that this guy is evidently feeling pretty devastated right now so try not to kick him whilst he's down (not that you are intentionally doing so, I know).

In response to your question OP, it's hard to give an accurate assessment of things with the one pic you've provided so far. It's clear that the work isn't great, yes, but if you could provide some pics of your hair before surgery as well as some directly post op showing the recipient and donor, then we could help more.

If you had little native hair left up top, which it indeed looks like from what I can see, then 1500 grafts is far too little. For your full blown NW5 pattern you realistically need a total of 6000+ grafts for a decent look with adequate density that would probably get a bit thinner towards the crown.

As long as it grows though, all is not lost and you can pick a better clinic in 12 months time to really give you what you need; it just means you'll maybe require less grafts when round 2 comes along.

Here are 2 pics 40 hours post-op, + what my hair looked right before the procedure. What are you thoughts?

Pictures still aren't ideal to be honest - first one is far too blurry to make out what the extractions looked like.

Second picture again isn't ideal as your hair is covering your scalp and I can't really make out the extent of your baldness, however, based off of it, I take back that you need 6000+ grafts. Maybe 4000-4500 total.

Do these pictures help? The first one is a before picture from about a year ago

Still hard to make out, but the donor looks ok from what I can see.

I can't make out how diffusely thinned your hair actually is as it doesn't look so bad when your hair is longer.

I'm going to PM you a few cases that could help... if I was you I would start getting in touch with good surgeons who will know exactly how this is going to turn out already and can plan to sort you out in 12 months time. You're going to need to send much clearer pictures though.

The photos are of too bad quality, the problem with Bosley and many chain clinics is that they usually dont do enough grafts, or lie in many cases about implanted grafts etc. I did not mean to be upset on you, what makes me upset is that people pay their hard earned money on someone who is cheating/lacks the skill to do good work but call themselves experts. The hair transplant industry is so unregulated its a disgrace, its the same for plastic surgery in general. The Dr/surgeons can basically do what they want and get away with it.

Yes I might sound a little harsh, but as I said above, it just makes me so angry to see these non-serious clinics time after time doing poor work when there are so many good alternatives for even cheaper out there.

The good thing is that it is only money wasted, usually Bosley dont implant enough grafts, but they usually dont destroy the donor area like many turkish hair mills, which if I got to choose anything I rather choose the first.
