zakj111
I hope this message reaches you well. I have been struggling to find a clinic within the UK that is reliable and can treat afro hair within a reasonable price range. I couldn't find any posts that answers the question in the title so i decided to make my own. I would really appreciate it if you guys could offer some suggestions? The main reason for choosing the U.K. is the travel restrictions that are in place makes it difficult to travel to many of the hair clinics that are abroad e.g. belgium, turkey etc,. I would be having a job interview in November which is why I am more than interested in doing it now if that was possible. I am 31 years old and i would like to lower my hairline (picture is attached below) Edited July 29, 2021 by zakj111

Senior Member Britanium Posted August 4, 2021 Senior Member Share Posted August 4, 2021 @zakj111 I would consider Dr Bisanga, even if it means waiting for the uk clinic to open. That’s if you can’t manage to travel, it is becoming easier !
Senior Member Marko7t4 Posted August 4, 2021 Senior Member Share Posted August 4, 2021 There are some photos on a the Hair Dr (Dr Arshad) page on Facebook with Afro hair mate. I’m sure they’ll have some on their website too.

Senior Member JDEE0 Posted August 5, 2021 Senior Member Share Posted August 5, 2021 I would strongly suggest re-considering - you're about to make a huge mistake. Get out whilst you can and re think things.
Senior Member Britanium Posted August 5, 2021 Senior Member Share Posted August 5, 2021 Cancel and reconsider your choices. You need someone who has a proven track record with Afro hair. If it means waiting to travel or waiting for BHRs clinic to open in the Uk then so be it. Don’t make a huge error and seek a costly repair later on.
Senior Member JDEE0 Posted August 5, 2021 Senior Member Share Posted August 5, 2021 I agree with John completely. If cost is a consideration, you could also see Dr. Mwamba. He only charges 2.50 EUR per graft I believe.

Senior Member JDEE0 Posted August 5, 2021 Senior Member Share Posted August 5, 2021 You have an overall really good head of hair as well, you don't even seem to be particularly afflicted by MPB and it seems you just have a high hairline with some slight recession/thinning. I understand that a lot of men with afro hair like a more low and straight hairline, so I get it, and you're a good candidate anyways, but it would be a real shame if you went and messed your head up considering your starting point was so good. Do this right and you will have a near perfect looking head of hair - for a very long time I would think by looking at your photos. Do it wrong and, well, you'll wish you could go back in time, and trust me, you'll regret your decision for ever. Why risk it all with some random hair mill clinic? Do you even know who your doctor is? Who will be performing the excisions and extractions? How much experience they have? Have you seen any patient results of theirs?
Senior Member Britanium Posted August 5, 2021 Senior Member Share Posted August 5, 2021 Yup choose the wrong clinic and they could decimate your donor area, most likely not have the required tools or skill to work with afro hair and you could end up with multi grafts in your hairline. That’s just some possibilities…
zakj111
Damn, JDEE0 your good with your argument. Your right. I will see if i can change my clinic. I just had a high hair line for soo long, so emotions definitely came into play when making a decision and Ii looked over red flags.

Get out and then choose a clinic which can do the best for your hair type. Random Uk clinics isn’t going to be it.
Senior Member JDEE0 Posted August 5, 2021 Senior Member Share Posted August 5, 2021 I think we've all been there mate. 10 minutes ago, zakj111 said: Damn, JDEE0 your good with your argument. But once this is all done and you've got an enviable head of hair, the past won't seem to matter so much. You'll soon forget about the period of time you had to wait to get what you want and you'll have the rest of your days to enjoy it. Remember, waiting an extra 6 months or a year to have a solid result is better than spending the next 50 hating the way you look because you were too impatient. Besides, travel is opening up now so you should be able to get to Belgium very soon, no probs. And like I said, if Bisanga is out of reach, get in touch with Mwamba. He'll do right by you and I don't think his wait times are long.
Senior Member Britanium Posted August 5, 2021 Senior Member Share Posted August 5, 2021 Waiting 6 months is better than seeing a awful result develop over 12 months and then having to seek a repair procedure and waiting another 12 months for it to be fixed.
