Senior Member LaserCap Posted May 25, 2019 Senior Member Share Posted May 25, 2019 Typically 3-4 months you should start noticing less shedding, It takes a full year to see if you will get any enhancement of the native hair. Everyone is different and thus, these times may also vary. The additional fact has to do with brand or generic. If you are splitting, the amount of medication may vary as well. Talk to the doctor and discuss all these nuances.
LonelyGraft
Finasteride begins lowering dht after your first dose. However, the hairs then need to become used to their new “healthier” environment with less dht. The hairs need to cycle again and sometimes shed and go into a rest period before they come back. The propecia manufacturer Merck used to say it takes minimum 3 months to see if the drug is working for u and usually it would only show as a decrease in hair loss at that stage. Peak results for propecia are seen at 1-2 years according to the studies.
