Regular Member calv Posted February 28, 2009 Regular Member Share Posted February 28, 2009 Just bought some rogaine 5% foam and was reading on wikipedia that 'moderate to great increases in hair growth were seen in the frontal scalp regions of 19% of men using 5% minoxidil'. That got me a bit excited and was wondering has this happedned to anyone and can they share there experiences? Thanks
Bill - Seemiller
calv, I can't speak for the percentage or where it came from however, I know a number of members over the years have reported some hair regrowth in the frontal areas of thinning hair along with the crown. Perhaps some will share their experience on this thread. Best wishes, Bill
Senior Member Leeson Posted March 2, 2009 Senior Member Share Posted March 2, 2009 I thought minox loses its effectiveness after ~52 weeks. My Hair Loss Website - Dr. Hasson
Regular Member Flavio Posted March 2, 2009 Regular Member Share Posted March 2, 2009 I've been using minoxidil 5% for many years but there was no regrowth (in the temples, the crown was always perfect). I keep using it, though. Finasteride is my number 1 hair loss drug.
Senior Member mmhce Posted March 2, 2009 Senior Member Share Posted March 2, 2009 I thought minox loses its effectiveness after ~52 weeks. If you mean expirary date from manufacture, I doubt that. If you mean tolerance to the drug, never. The reason there seems to be less and less of response, has to do with the MPB continuing, not with tolerance to the drug. take care...
