Upfront fees for transplant repair

Recommended Posts

Does anyone have any experience with Dr. Cole doing hair transplant repair?

I'm a little concerned with the fee's structure.

They are requiring a 25% deposit with the entire balance due 3-weeks before the procedure.

Is this standard practice?

I think that's somewhat unusual. There are some who do it, but I think standard is a 25% deposit and then payment on the day of your procedure. If you skip on the appointment, they get to keep your deposit.

If it's uncomfortable for you to meet his terms, politely tell them some of the best surgeons in world work by a similar pay schedule as the one I've described above and would he be willing to do the same.

Personally, I wouldn't follow that because if something major happened, like a death in the family, it might be difficult to get the money back. Who knows, something could happen and you don't go through with the procedure at all.

My doc, Dr. Rahal required $1000 when I set the date and two weeks prior to surgery the balance was due. The doc doesn't want to be in a situation where a check bounces or something happens to the payment, which would put the doc in a bind.

Most reputable docs, especially those recommended on this site, will work with you in terms of a refund or make-up date should something coming up making it not possible to make the surgery date. These forums are our voice out there in this HT world.

Leeson,

I noticed you've also had work done by Latham's as have I. I'd like to hear your experience if you could PM me. Not that I think they are butchers, but I haven't really ever known anyone who has had a procedure done there; besides myself of course.
