quangtay Posted January 23, 2018 Share Posted January 23, 2018 Hello community, I?m 23 years old and considering having a hair transplant. I noticed my hair loss in the crown about 3 years ago. My hair fell aggresively in the first year and it?s reached stagnation since last year. Do you think it?s still too soon to get a HT? After surgery everyone is supposed to take finasteride to slow down the falling progess, does anyone suffer any side effects of this? I?m quite confusing. At this point in time, surgery should not even be considered. The best recommendation is to get your loss stabilized through effective meds like low dose finasteride...make an appointment for a comprehensive consultation...the HT specialist can prescribe finasteride for you if your doctor feels that is the best plan for now...and most likely probably is. Regular Member ejojer9 Posted January 24, 2018 Regular Member Share Posted January 24, 2018 i recommend you get on finasteride and/or dutasteride to further stabilize your loss. if you choose to fill in the crown within the next year or so i say you minimally fill it in and add toppik or some type of concealer in order to create a fuller look. you don't want to place too many limited grafts into one area. you may lose much, much more later down. upload photos for us to see where your loss in now. A lot of guys see a good response to Finasteride and Minoxidil at the crown area, so it's worth giving them a try. quangtay Posted January 24, 2018 Author Share Posted January 24, 2018 I was on Minoxidil about one year but didn?t notice any signal of regrowth of hair. But since last year my hair has reached stagnation that I don?t notice any aggresive hair loss anymore. Maybe Finasteride would be the solution. Thank you so much for your device. If you used Minoxidil consistently for a year with no changes then I guess that treatment isn't going to work for you. Finasteride is worth a go.
