Hi all .. I have hyperhydrosis on my head .. meaning I swear a lot n easily at the top of my head / forehead.. if it’s hot I’m sweating , if I do do a little exercise I will sweat a lot on my head .. if I eat anything spicy my head will also sweat profusely .. I’m wondering if this has contributed to my hair loss .. I don’t swear in armpits or anything just my head ..

All that sweat I think is clogging up my follicles ... what do u guys think ? Anyone have the same problem ?

My hairloss has been more or less stable for years and I do get scalp sweat myself under those sorts of triggers. I think it's unlikely that sweat would make a difference. Sweat is very fluid and if a physical blockage of the follicle could cause an interruption in the ability of follicles to produce hair, then I would expect your skin's natural oils (which are thicker than sweat) to be more likely to cause this, in combination with dead skin cells. Personally I don't think any of this has a real effect on hair growth, but if there is any data to suggest otherwise then I'm all ears.

I am a patient and representative of Dr Rahal.

If you go through a few hair loss blogs and forums, you will not find much information on how sweating affects the rate of hair loss. In fact, there are professional hair loss consultants out there who may not be able to explain to you the connection between excessive sweating and persistent hair loss. This makes you wonder, is there even an association between the two to begin with?

During an FUE transplant, a highly experienced doctor extracts hair follicles from the donor area, typically the back of the neck, using a specialised extraction instrument less than 1mm in diameter. Follicles are then transferred to the recipient area on your scalp and implanted using a powerful stereo microscope in groups of one to four hairs, just as they grow in nature.

Hair transplantation Surgery in Delhi might be helpful in this case.

I think there is a correlation to hair loss n excessive sweat.. it might not be the root cause of hair loss .. like MPB .. but ur hair is most vulnerable to breakage when its wet .. that’s why if ur scalp sweats a lot .. then u will lose more hair . When u touch it or comb it .. because it’s wet. Especially if ur hair is already thin from MPB .. I know when I travel to humid countries I always have more hairloss when I shake my head ..

Because of the excessive sweating I’ve endured throughout the day ..
