Hi everyone

I've gained a lot from this site earlier on, and not it's my time to contribute.

I've been loosing my hair since the age of 18. Went on rogaine and kept it at a minimum. But I still had a receding hair line and wished to fix it.

Last year I contacted Dr. Marwan Saifi from AM-MED in Wroclaw, Poland, and he convinced me that a FUT would be good. I did mention the concern I had with the scar, as I like my hair short on the sides and the back, but he mentioned that it should't be a problem and attached 2 pictures of really good looking scars.

First of all. Dr. Saifi personally replies to every e-mail. Everything is very professional. You get picked up personally by a driver and driven to the hotel. Really nice hotel. The day after you get to the clinic and as they only do 1 patient a day, you are really taken care of. There's nothing to say about that. Top quality.

However. 2 major points would make me not recommend this clinic.

- First of all the scar IS a big issue, when you want short hair in the back. The 2 pictures he attached perhaps reflect the 2 best outcomes, but my outcome was not that good, and now I need to have a hair cut at least 15 mm on the back to cover the scar (usually I had 6 mm).

- Second of all. He didn't ask me 1 single time what my goals were with the transplantion. He didn't drew my new hair line. Didn't ask me what concerned me. Nothing. This was my first hair transplant, so I didn't question anything. The results are now, that yes my hairline did improve slightly but I still had a pretty bad hair line.

Price: 8 zloty pr. graft therefore 12000 zloty for 1500 grafts.

Now, after a lot of research, I've decided to get my next HT - this time a FUE done by Dr. Ilkay Apaydin from Istanbul. I got it done yesterday, so results are not in yet.

2500 grafts were approximately transfered including covering the scar.

This has also been very professional from the get-go. Pick-up, hotel amazing and everything professional. Although it isn't the doctor who replies to e-mails but a girl who speaks good english.

Only bad experience so far was the communication or the lack of.

- I mentioned explicitly that I wanted the FUT scar covered along with the hair line. I got an reply that this was doable.

Then, when I met the doctor. The first he said was that we couldn't do both the FUT scar and the hairline in the same procedure. Had I known this, I wouldn't have chosen that clinic. I felt extremely bad, but luckily I insisted and agreed to the possible loosing of grafts at the FUT scar as you usually sleep on your back.

- I asked, was if I could keep my hair long on top, as I would like to hide it as much as possible. This was again, not a problem. Although when I came to the clinic, the lady who shaves almost shaved off all of my hair. Luckely I managed to stop her.

- I asked if I could get a 6 mm hair cut on the sides and back just to keep the difference in check, so I don't have a completely shaven head on the back and 2 cm of hair on the sides but rather 6 mm. I was advised against this, as they would shave it at the clinic. Guess what, they only shaved the back even though I asked for the sides as well. So now I look completely retarded.

A very good experience except that, and the results look promising. I'll update as time goes.

Price; 1850 euros everything included.

If anyone are interesting in anything about these clinic or my experience, feel free to ask.

Hey thanks for sharing all of this. A couple things:

1. When did you have your procedure with Saifi?

2. May I see before and afters of Saifi?

3. May I see your immediate post op of your 2nd procedure?

I've never heard of the Doctor who did your FUE procedure.

@JM3333

Im back now near 3 months from Dr Saifi, cant say much yet about my results as it is early still. However he spent a lot of time answering my questions even late at night after the op and still anytime I ask. At the end of the day I will base it on results and it a pity your HT turned out not what you expected.

I would be interested to see photographs of your results from Saifi and the scar.

I let him draw the hairline on me, although i'd have hoped for more density, the actual hairline shape and height is pretty much perfect aesthetically.

I find it strange that he didn't discuss your expectations, prior to surgery.

You could get some fue grafts into the scar, if you want to keep your hair shorter.

It's been a year since the Saifi procedure.

I've uploaded the before and after, although they are really bad quality as I didn't had plans on documentating it back then. As you see, my hair line wasn't really bad, but I wanted to get it fixed. And I agree that it was really odd that he didn't discuss my concerned or didn't draw the hair line.

As for the after pictures of the current FUE. I've uploaded one side and the other side just post surgery as I'm extremely swollen at the moment at that was the only pictures I could find. I don't have a picture of the scar before surgery but I have uploaded one of the holes the surgeon applied before the grafts where inserted.

As for the FUE grafts in the scar; that's exactly what I have done now.
