  1. Has anyone here from the UK had successful results with GetHair? I was recommended by a friend and underwent a 2,100 graft FUE with Dr. Ilker Apaydin earlier this month. I have some feedback on the experience if anyone was thinking of going: Positives - A lot of the work was done by Dr. Apaydin himself. He made the incisions in the recipient area as well as around 33% of the extractions. The rest of the extractions and the implantations were done by his technical team. - The surgeon and I negotiated a hairline which I was very happy with. He took into account my age, level of recession as well as the shape of my skull, and did his best to ensure I was happy. - The surgeon is a member of the ISHRS. - Prior to the procedure, Zeynep briefed me on the next few days at the hotel/clinic, as well as ran me through the steps of the operation and who would be performing what. - The nurses seemed to be very methodical and confident in their work with no hesitations. They were communicating and assessing the grafting constantly throughout the op. I got the impression that they had been properly trained and were competent. On two separate occasions, the nurse and the doctor both informed me that they would not be talking since they needed to count the grafts, which gave me confidence that they were meticulous in their work. - The follow-up information was incredibly detailed; I was given strict guidelines to follow and a long list of dos/don'ts post-op. Leila who ran me through my post-op care went into a great amount of detail. - A couple of days post-hair transplant and the work does look very neat, with no complications or pain. - Very good communication and quick response from their rep Stuart in the UK, who was very conversational, welcoming and not at all salesy. I was given several emails containing lots of information in the lead up to the procedure. Stuart made sure I was kept in the loop. - Throughout the procedure, the doctor and assistants were constantly asking me if I were okay, or if I had any questions, which was very reassuring. - After the operation I was given a detailed breakdown report of the graft count, and number of hairs. Negatives - Several local anaesthetic injections were administered in quick succession by the nurses which were very painful (the pain from my previous procedure did not come close) - the adrenaline contained in the injections caused a rush that was almost traumatic, I think I may have gone slightly into shock as I was uncontrollably laughing. My heart rate was over 100bpm and I was convinced I was going to end up in cardiac arrest. The doctor told me this was normal and just a reaction to the adrenaline. The nurses did do their best to comfort me during this and calmed me down before starting the op. - At one point while I was having my bloods taken, I was injected in my wrist without warning. I asked the nurse what the injection was for but she could not speak English (it turned out my veins were not showing up enough for the PRP blood extraction). At another point during the procedure, I had questions but I was left alone in the room with nurses who could not speak English. - The doctor left partway through the procedure and did not come to assess the implantation conducted by the nurses while it was ongoing, but instead saw me the next morning when the operation was complete. - The clinic was part of a hospital (I was told this should ring alarm bells). When I came out to have my hair washed I saw a woman on a stretcher about to undergo a facelift. Something to me felt a bit 'outsourcey' as I was assisted in the morning and afternoon by two different reps (Zeynep and Leila, who despite this were both brilliant). I paid my transaction to GetHair but the pamphlet I was given post-op had the 'NewAge Clinic' title on it. If anyone asked me, I would say the operation went well. I took into consideration the doctor's experience and previous results. However, I am naturally a very anxious person and having undergone a procedure before, I know how painstaking the process of waiting for results can be. Sitting at home during the recovery period can cause your mind to wander and I started questioning my decision. To reassure myself I searched all the reviews of GetHair online and became slightly suspicious that nearly all the reviews are 5 stars, are from immediately after the op and not 12 months after, and seem perhaps a bit too good to be true. Does anyone here have any before and afters or results of GetHair/Dr. Apaydin that they can share to put my mind at ease?
  2. @JM3333 how were your results with Dr. Ilker Apaydin? I like you, have had two transplants with the same doctors, one with Saifi and now just had one with Apaydin.
