Towel during after hair transplant

Do you think there is any validity to his claim, that if you have had a HT, you shouldn't towel dry your hair?

He's making stuff up.

 

What he's likely experiencing is the fact a transplant is a cosmetic restoration, not a full density restoration, and in some instances thinks he looks thin after a shed....which he probably notices when he towels and thus blames on a towel.

Aside from being careful with how you care for you hair/grafts immediately following a hair transplant -

which is a completely different conversation - Towel drying your hair does not cause hair loss... What he's probably seeing are the hairs that are destined to shed anyway coming out when towel drying his hair.

 

The same exact thing can happen with blowdrying your hair, tbh... I had a roommate once who had really thick hair and no signs of MPB, but when he blow dried his hair, the hairs in the process of shedding would dislodge and end up on the wall behind him. (He seriously had super thick hair... lol.) This in no way means that blow drying his hair caused hair loss, just as towel drying isn't causing this guy to lose hair at the root, either. Disheartening that he has over 27,000 views on his video, but goes to show just how important forums like this one are.

Unfortunately a lot of ignorance and downright myth gets peddled on youtube. I still see people fear mongering about propecia on it.

Lol.... I lose hair consistently just from washing my hair! It always sheds when it dries... Just a mere annoyance, really (it's long & gets on my arm). I rarely ever use a hairdryer, & esp haven't post HT. I use my hairdryer more on my dog than I do on myself!

I use a Q-Tip on each individual hair to removes moisture after my shower. So far so good.

 

I also avoid sunshine, cloudy days, breezes or wind, rain and snow. Can't be too careful.

 

I must say, it's quite exhausting.
