Dr. Jean Devroye Posted September 1, 2017 Share Posted September 1, 2017 PATIENT'S DETAILS ✓ 40 years old, NW IV, losing hair since the age of 30, with a hair loss history in his family (paternal and maternal side). ✓ Started taking Minoxidil 5% since the surgery. ✓ Very thin hair. ✓ Normal follicular units. ✓ High % of hair in telogen phase. RECOMMENDED TREATMENT This 40 year old patient wanted to restore his hairline and frontal area. Given that he was not willing to take Finasteride, we decided to cover also the mid-scalp to prevent his hair loss potential progression. A very important FUT was realized and we have obtained an excellent number of grafts and ratio hair/graft. 6 months after the surgery, the change in the patient's look is already obvious. Please note that the post-operative pictures were taken and sent by the patient himself. Hello spitfire uk, Yes, this was an unshaven FUT procedure. The patient requested it because of professional reasons. Concerning English patients: yes, I do receive quite a lot of them. London and Brussels are very well connected by train - it is just a 2 hours trip - or by plane if they come from other parts of the UK. In general, the majority of my patients come from abroad. That's why I have equipped the clinic with bedrooms, in order to provide them with a pleasant and comfortable stay. Thank you for commenting. Thanks for your comment Dolph1969. As a general rule, it is the convergence of a good scalp laxity and a good donor density that allows to harvest 4000 grafts or more in one session. This is one of the advantages of FUT, since in general the number of grafts attained is higher - which consequently gives more dense results.
