Fernet1717
Hello, This is long overdue but I thought I would share my results. I had a FUT procedure with Dr. Diep on 3.17.2016. I had 3500 grafts in the front and 700 grafts on the crown. I am from the bay area and was willing to travel in order to find the best doctor. After doing plenty of research I was really fortunate that Dr. Diep was local. I am extremely happy with my results, he promised that I would have excellent outcome, and he certainly delivered. In terms of the timeline, I started to see decent growth around month 3 (June 2016), at month 6 it was thick but not perfect, then months 8-12 I hit amazing density. My hair line is about as natural as it gets. It was seriously the best decision I have made. I know it’s a tough mental and financial decision. However, I committed and couldn’t be happier. Senior Member Slush Posted August 14, 2017 Senior Member Share Posted August 14, 2017 It looks great! I really appreciate your breakdown of months 3-6-9. I'm nearly at 6 and feel the same I'd love to see the donor region. How short can you cut your hair in the donor region? Fernet1717
I am over 2 years removed from the restoration. Very happy with the results. However, the scar is pretty decent. Dr. Diep offered to do a scar revision. Has anyone had any experience with him in his revision surgeries? I fully understand that it will never be 100% invisible. But at this point, I would like to hide it. What are peoples thoughts for my situation? - Scar revision (Dr Diep or find a specialist)? - FUE over the scar - Pigmentation
Administrators Melvin- Admin Posted July 25, 2018 Administrators Share Posted July 25, 2018 Scar revisions are always tricky because the scar may or may not improve, I would definitely opt for FUE in to the scar, do you have a thick beard? You could use beard hair in to the scar that way you don’t waste any scalp grafts. warm regards-Melvin I’m a paid admin for Hair Transplant Network. I do not receive any compensation from any clinic. Senior Member Gasthoerer Posted July 25, 2018 Senior Member Share Posted July 25, 2018 One Important INFO from your side is missing to give advice: Do you plan further surgery e. g. to crown area? Then you could combine scar revision and the add on surgery. P.S. Great improvement overall from pre-op to now. 400+ grafts in 2018 and 2900 grafts in 2020 via FUE with Feriduni
Fernet1717
@Gasthoerer Yes - I do want to do another crown surgery in a few years. But i would for sure opt for FUE because I don't want another scar. Once again, trying to optimize my time. Just unsure of the best way to go about this. They will cut out the first one. If you are lucky you have a revision and the new surgery together. 400+ grafts in 2018 and 2900 grafts in 2020 via FUE with Feriduni
