Administrators Melvin- Admin Posted June 23, 2017 Administrators Share Posted June 23, 2017 Looks like you've acted on impulse rather than researching, never heard of this doctor before but one thing that alarms me is that your surgery is scheduled in less than a month, Dr. Konoir the most well known dr in IL has a wait list of a year. Whether you want to proceed with FUE depend on your goals, I would personally advise against a procedure until you've consulted with SEVERAL recommended physicians, take your time looking at patient reviews, ask questions to members regarding their experience, you can gain invaluable information on this site. Administrators Melvin- Admin Posted June 23, 2017 Administrators Share Posted June 23, 2017 Just googling his name led me to be very skeptical, he only does FUE so he wouldn't be able to really tell you what procedure is best for you, ideally choosing a clinic that does both procedures is best. If your mind has been made up then I wish you all the best. I’m a paid admin for Hair Transplant Network. I do not receive any compensation from any clinic. My comments are not medical advice. Senior Member mattj Posted June 23, 2017 Senior Member Share Posted June 23, 2017 If you were walking in without stating a preference for FUE, most doctors would probably recommend FUT and at least 4500 grafts, as your balding area is quite large. If set on FUE, 3000 grafts is on the higher end of what doctors will perform in one sitting and it's important to know that those grafts will only go so far. I am a patient and representative of Dr Rahal. Senior Member mikeyhwk Posted June 23, 2017 Senior Member Share Posted June 23, 2017 I would listen to what Mattj and HtSoon are saying. Your donors are limited and this isn't the time to be taking the chance on an unknown and given your loss you may need multiple large procedures and fut may be your best avenue to maximize available grafts and get the most coverage. I wouldn't rush into this, take a step back get a few consults from recommended fut surgeons as well and get a consensus on what they're recommending you'll likely find 3k fue grafts isn't enough and may leave you in bad spot going forward.
