Regular Member surferhair Posted March 17, 2017 Regular Member Share Posted March 17, 2017 Hello, I'm just 1 month post op and wanted to know when is it safe to resume playing soccer? I play 2-3 times a week but not too aggressive soccer and really don't use my head at all. However, I do run a lot and fast (i.e., sprints). Is there any risk to the recipient or donor area? Please let me know. Thank you
Senior Member hsrp10 Posted March 17, 2017 Senior Member Share Posted March 17, 2017 A lot of head injuries can come from playing soccer but at 1 month you should be out of the woods mostly. Just try to take it easy (woos it out a little lol) for the first sessions until you reach 2-3 months. No diving headers either. Running and sweat should be fine but keep the scalp clean afterwards. go dense or go home Unbiased advice and opinions based on 25 plus years of researching and actual experience with hair loss, hair restoration via both FUT & FUE, SMP, scalp issues including scalp eczema & seborrheic dermatitis and many others HSRP10's favorite FUT surgeons: *Dr. Konior, *Dr Hasson, Dr. Rahal HSRP10's favorite FUE surgeons: *Dr. Konior, *Dr. Bisanga, Dr. Erdogan, Dr. Couto (*indicates actual experience with doctor)
Dr. Glenn Charles
I agree you can play now as long as you are not doing the head butting thing. I have had some professional soccer players as patients and have seen what I feel is an increased amount of scar tissue on the top of the scalp . This might be from the trauma of repeated heading of the ball over all those years. Regular Member surferhair Posted March 17, 2017 Author Regular Member Share Posted March 17, 2017 Thank you. Even before my HT I didn't use my head so I'll be very carful not to use my head now. It's really just a pick up game nothing aggressive. Thank you guys

Regular Member surferhair Posted March 18, 2017 Author Regular Member Share Posted March 18, 2017 Speegs, Thank you for the info. I plan to play next Thursday which will be 5 weeks post op. Did you have FUT or FUE when you played after 6 weeks? If FUT, didn't you have some pain in donor when running?

I don't recall any pain or tightness from playing soccer six weeks post op...just being winded and out of shape. Hair loss patient and transplant veteran. Once a Norwood 3A.
