Senior Member options Posted December 11, 2016 Senior Member Share Posted December 11, 2016 Hey, So I had FUE and I'm fairly happy with the result. I've started using wax to style my hair, first i rub the wax on my hands, then I put my hands through my hair. When I do this I notice some hairs fall out and stick to my hands due to the stickiness of the wax. So, I have two questions: a) This is normal, right? That I've had FUE poses no problem to styling in this way? b) Am I right in thinking, even if I didn't use wax, these hairs would fall out anyway? Senior Member hsrp10 Posted December 12, 2016 Senior Member Share Posted December 12, 2016 How long ago was your procedure? Seems the hair cycles for transplanted hair are relatively short until around two years. As long as you're not doing anything like harsh brushing to the extent it could cause traction alopecia or using harsh chemicals/shampoos on your scalp then it should fine and the "lost" hairs will grow back. Though I would be gentle with grooming techniques and careful about products used if it's still early on post-op. go dense or go home Unbiased advice and opinions based on 25 plus years of researching and actual experience with hair loss, hair restoration via both FUT & FUE, SMP, scalp issues including scalp eczema & seborrheic dermatitis and many others HSRP10's favorite FUT surgeons: *Dr. Konior, *Dr Hasson, Dr. Rahal HSRP10's favorite FUE surgeons: *Dr. Konior, *Dr. Bisanga, Dr. Erdogan, Dr. Couto (*indicates actual experience with doctor)
Senior Member options Posted December 25, 2016 Author Senior Member Share Posted December 25, 2016 Thanks - what makes a shampoo or hair product harsh? I don't brush my hair at all. When the hair falls out there is no blood, it looks completely normal. Just like it did before the op. I'm 6 months post-op. Thanks!
Senior Member voxman Posted December 26, 2016 Senior Member Share Posted December 26, 2016 Yeah the FUE hair transplant work most of the time for many people.. What a stupid reply in response to the OPs question. Why are you even here? All of your replies are useless non-sequiters. I'm serious. Just look at my face. My Hair Regimen: Lather, Rinse, Repeat. Shampoos that contain harsh chemicals which can cause hair fall if overused, especially Nizoral for one as an example. Also seems salicylic acid and tea tree oil containing shampoos should be avoided early after surgery. go dense or go home Unbiased advice and opinions based on 25 plus years of researching and actual experience with hair loss, hair restoration via both FUT & FUE, SMP, scalp issues including scalp eczema & seborrheic dermatitis and many others HSRP10's favorite FUT surgeons: *Dr. Konior, *Dr Hasson, Dr. Rahal HSRP10's favorite FUE surgeons: *Dr. Konior, *Dr. Bisanga, Dr. Erdogan, Dr. Couto (*indicates actual experience with doctor)
