Senior Member rsn Posted December 2, 2016 Senior Member Share Posted December 2, 2016 Does 10% minoxidil work better than 5% ?
Senior Member KO Posted December 2, 2016 Senior Member Share Posted December 2, 2016 Nope. Minoxidil's max solubility in propylene glycol is about 7.5%, and when you put it on the scalp it mixes with water etc, so it drops further. 10% won't do you any good. 3382 FUE Lupanzula http://www.hairrestorationnetwork.com/eve/185463-3382-grafts-lupanzula.html

Regular Member richter101 Posted December 2, 2016 Regular Member Share Posted December 2, 2016 Hey again! See you're all over these forums! ha I think there's a reason they generally cap out at 5. Also, are you taking Finasteride? In my opinion, that and a (good) hair surgeon are the only realistic options. Senior Member rsn Posted December 3, 2016 Author Senior Member Share Posted December 3, 2016 1) The FDA's 5% cap is very little evidence that 10% does no better. 2) I have re-started oral finasteride every few years, and every time thus far the sexual side effect was too great, so I stopped. I am going to start topical finasteride, since Hasson and Wong now makes one.
