Regular Member vinaymieux Posted July 30, 2016 Regular Member Share Posted July 30, 2016 Hi guys I have just crossed my 8th month mark and i started suffering from a temporary hair loss phase almost 2-3 months ago known as Telogen Effluvium.. Sadly the phase continues and i am still shedding a lot of hair all over.. (not only transplanted hair). That made a lot of people around me ask the same question.....: DOES TRANSPLANTED HAIR SHED? Or is it there to stay forever....?? In my latest video.. i try to answer that to the best of my knowledge.. please watch it here: https://youtu.be/E-vPML9wpB8 Visit my YouTube channel for my complete HT Journey here: https://www.youtube.com/c/vinhairtransplant/videos

All hair sheds over a given period of time. I haven't noticed if my hair is shedding from my body. I met my doctor last month for this and he told me there's nothing you can do and this is all due to stress.. Just advised me to take less stress and eat well... Regular Member zhairz Posted August 12, 2016 Regular Member Share Posted August 12, 2016 What are you using for shampoo? Something as simple as the wrong chemical in your shampoo disagreeing with your scalp can cause a shed of transplanted or native hairs. Try an organic shampoo without all of the harsh chemicals. There are also many oils you can apply nightly to give your scalp the hydration and nutrients it needs to calm it down.

I never oil my hair and not sure if that helps at all or not. What kind do you recommend? Bill - Seemiller
4 to 6 weeks after hair transplant surgery, the transplanted hair sheds and then starts to regrow between 3 to 5 months, taking up to a year to 18 months to mature. However, all hair goes through regular growth cycles which includes a growth phase, a shedding phase and a resting phase. So yes, transplanted hair does shed just like normal hair but grows back. I believe it's approximately 90% of your hair that's in the growth phase so another 10% is resting below the surface of the scalp or in the process of shedding. I hope this helps.
