Senior Member ALEXD Posted April 26, 2016 Senior Member Share Posted April 26, 2016 Hello Everybody, Through the many years of our presence in the Hair transplant industry one of the main concerns of potential patients, is their cosmetic look immediately post op and the few days after that. Patients what to plan their surgery at a time that can take a few days off work. Despite the fact that healing time can differ from person to person, on average one week from start to finish should be enough. At HDC we request our patients to stay with us for 3-4 days after the procedure finishes, providing them with our custom made post op care. By providing that, we have noticed that the healing accelerates and have concluded that up to 7 days post op, patients return to an acceptable cosmetic look. Senior Member ALEXD Posted May 5, 2016 Author Senior Member Share Posted May 5, 2016 what about strip scar, how long does it take for the scar not to be visible? Dear Sultsay, If a Strip scar is visible the best way to make it as less visible as possible is to place FUE grafts on the scar. If you mean after going ahead with scar repair surgery with FUE grafts on the scar then within the first 2-3 weeks the hair on the scar implanted will fall and begin to regrow in 3 months as usual. The next link will take you to a scar repair procedure done with HDC in order to observe. SCAR REPAIR If you have a scar problem you can post your photos in order to provide you with our opinion or you can request an online assessment through this forum at the next link. Senior Member ALEXD Posted May 13, 2016 Author Senior Member Share Posted May 13, 2016 I don't see how you can combat redness on the recipient area besides letting time in general do it's thing? Hello Beebz, I think that there is no straight forward answer to this question. We need to say that each patient reacts differently on redness but from our many years of experience we have noticed that our patients sometimes they have more redness in general and other times they have less redness. Some years before we allowed patients to use minoxidil 10 days after surgery and then we have noticed that this practice had prolonged redness therefore we have changed our instructions. We now advice patients to begin if they wish, or most of the time continue their minoxidil treatment one month after surgery and only if the redness has gone completely. If the use of it produces redness again then it must be discontinued until the hair will start to grow after the 3rd month. I believe that redness has to do also with other factors such as the trauma caused to the recipient area from the creation of the sites, the depth of the sites, the size of the needle or blade used for the creation of Sites, and the post operation treatment right after the procedure. Most of our patient nowadays have less redness or no redness, similar to the example in this post that you can see here. I hope I have given some light to your question.
