Senior Member Etownone Posted April 9, 2016 Senior Member Share Posted April 9, 2016 Hi everyone. New to this site.... But not new to hair loss, treatments and surgery. Had my first surgery FUT with Dr.Dorin back in November of 2008, and just recently (finally) did my second FUT. But... I concentrated only on the frontal area. About 2400 grafts. What I need to get done now is my crown area. But I want to go with FUE. What are other Doctors in the NYC area that are affordable and experienced to help me out. Heres a pic on my crown area. Maybe I can get input on recommendation and price. Thanks.
Senior Member JON86 Posted April 9, 2016 Senior Member Share Posted April 9, 2016 Most will tell you not to limit yourself to a particular city or country to pick a doctor. I agree with this thinking. Having said that I really like some of the fue results Dr Carlos Wesley has been showing as of late. He is in New York but I have no idea of what his pricing is. I actually made an appointment with him for consultation next month. But, I have a feeling he's going to be too expensive. I'd be willing to pay like 5 or 6 for around 2000... But I hear the good doctors in NYC area charge like 10 a graft.
Senior Member JON86 Posted April 9, 2016 Senior Member Share Posted April 9, 2016 Yes it will be nearly impossible to find a doctor in New York that charges around 5 or 6 a graft. You should never let price persuade you on who you choose. We have all seen on here that often ends bad. Most of the best fue results come from out of the US. The most affordable fue doctor recommended in the States on this site is Vories in North Carolina. He charges five dollars a graft.

I know there's a Dr. Nader in Mexico that is supposed to be good and affordable too.
Senior Member Ernie Posted April 9, 2016 Senior Member Share Posted April 9, 2016 Just curious, are you stripped out and that's why you're thinking FUE? Because that crown may need a lot of grafts 3185 FUT with Dr. Rahal on 2/17/16 http://www.hairrestorationnetwork.com/eve/182611-fut-3185-dr-rahal-day-after-pics.html 1204 FUT with Dr. Rahal on 3/27/17 http://www.hairrestorationnetwork.com/eve/186586-round-2-rahal-1204-fut-frontal-third-same-area.html ---> total of 4389 grafts to my frontal third via FUT ---> 1mg finasteride daily since 1999

Because that crown may need a lot of grafts I know it looks pretty bad.... I was thinking (hoping) 1500-2000 would cover it good. I just had my second FUT last week. First one in 08. But this time around, I had all the grafts put into the front area. 2400. So. Since I didn't touch the crown area, I'll be able to do FUE in as little as a month after this last procedure. But so freaking expensive in USA. There has to be good respectable doctor out there that can do it for 5-6 a graft.
Senior Member hairthere Posted April 10, 2016 Senior Member Share Posted April 10, 2016 That's a big expanse of crown to cover. I'd say you're going to need at least 3k to do the job.
