Regular Member BradenLeeStevens Posted January 30, 2016 Regular Member Share Posted January 30, 2016 Ok so I saw "GetFue" on Facebook a few months ago and been in contact with Kristina via email and did google the place and saw people's results and was happy with what I was seeing. For the last 12 months I have been wearing a hair piece and it made me even more self conscious to a degree I wouldn't go out with friends. So I thought a transplant is the best way to go about it. After emailing Kristina we were ready to sort out a booking when I noticed they required a blood test and I had to tell her I only found out I caught HIV 3 years ago due to a bad operation I had when I was a child but was classed as undetectable. I was dreading her next email as I had a feeling she would say no sorry or I wouldn't hear off her again I got the email and I was correct she did say that "getfue" haven't got the right equipment to deal with people in my situation but that BHT have a new hospital that will take me on and I emailed her saying yes I know it was bad I didn't even want to ask any questions I was desperate to get this done. Anyway she said they had an app Jan 28th I took it and booked my flight and I got a email off BHT and I googled the company and I got bad reviews and I was so nervous and worried and was even going to cancel. But I had this gut feeling these bad reviews expected to come out looking like Rapunzel. Anyway I arrived in turkey after an amazing flight on Turkish Airlines and I was alone as everyone was so worried for me I was picked up in a lovely posh car with water and sweets. The journey took over an hour in the car as I was staying in the Asia area. We got to the hotel (Ramada Asia) and the staff were amazing and catered for all my needs they even got my a dominoes pizza when I arrived. Anyway that evening I met with Oguz who was looking after me during my stay. He got me Turkish tea which was lovey and gave me lots of information and put me at ease. He was a nice guy and said I could contact him any time of day! The next day was surgery day and it was only 1 minute walk from the hotel. The surgery took place at "Newest plastik surgery Istanbul" it was clean, moden, and I felt a relief I wasn't in a backend room. They gave me a drink and I was so nervous at this point. I met the 2 people who were performing my treatment and was relieved they spoke English. So they shaved my head. And it was time for the anestetic. And I have to say nothing in the world could of prepared me for the pain and agony those needles are I actually thought I was going to pas out. Was the worse pain I have ever experienced in my life. After 30 minutes I didn't feel a thing and they started to harvest the back hairs got to say the sounds you hear in your head are not pleasant at all. Then we had a break and I had a lovey lunch prepared for me. Then it was time for my hairline. And that awful anestetic again. It was worse than the first time around. I wanted to just forget it and walk out lol but I got thru it in the end. . It's very personal and invasive surgery but I just switched off. They started to plant my hair and I just watched the tv they had on with music. They did ask me if I wanted to change channel I said no it was taking my mid off it even though I never understood a single word they were singing. We had another break for Turkish tea and cake and to give me a breather. The they finished off my hair. And I was amazed I loved it it was the worse 7 hours of my life but it was so worth it. I had my hairline back. They went over my medication and what to do for the next few weeks and months and gave me a instruction sheet to take home with all my shampoos and meds and a pillow. I got back to my hotel and I passed out asleep as I was in so much pain I woke up the next day pillows full of blood. I got dressed and had breakfast and a car picked me up to take back to the airport Now I'm home and about to do my first hair wash I'm really happy so far. Will post pictures with my progress. If anyone needs phone numbers and email details then message me. Cost me €2900 for 3000 grafts , hotel, airport pick up, food, operation , aftercare

Regular Member BradenLeeStevens Posted February 11, 2016 Author Regular Member Share Posted February 11, 2016 Well it's been 2 weeks. I'm happy with results but when I look down it does look very noticeable and thin I don't know if this is normal as I said its only 2 weeks so I'm not judging it as I know I have that shedding stage and maybe some have came out already
Senior Member Britanium Posted February 11, 2016 Senior Member Share Posted February 11, 2016 Its going to get worse before it gets better. No growth will start until about 3-4th month. You will then start to notice changes month to month - right up until 12 months and beyond. Personally my FUEs have imrproved after 12 months up to 18 months. The ugly duckling stage is the worse as you think your hair has actually got worse. But it has not. Shock loss can occur sometimes too. this will grow back in time. Your work looks good. Regular Member BradenLeeStevens Posted March 9, 2016 Author Regular Member Share Posted March 9, 2016 It's been 5 weeks still happy. Some hairs fallen out as you can see with pics but I just cover up using hair fibers when out. Tell me are all the hairs suppose to fall out before they regrow? As only some have of mine and the ones that are still there from my transplant seem to be growing

Regular Member BradenLeeStevens Posted March 10, 2016 Author Regular Member Share Posted March 10, 2016 I don't know what "equipment" is needed to deal with HIV. It should not be more than gloves and masks just like how clinics should deal with any patient. In the US it's illegal to refuse someone based on their HIV status but I don't know how this is in other countries. It sounds to me that someone is being small minded about your HIV status which is why you were handed off to another clinic. I hope this works about for you. Honestly I was turned away from so many compiled because of it in turkey made me feel so dirty yet I didn't get it how most people do. But newest were happy to take me on and didn't do anything different as they had a letter from my dr saying I was undetectable and healthy. I got turned away from turkey yesterday aswel when requesting another cosmetic procedure even newest won't do it
Bill - Seemiller
Braden, Congratulations on your recent hair transplant. While I don't know anything about this clinic, I do agree with the others to have said the work looks clean. As far as the result, that will take a solid year to 18 months to grow in fully. Most likely, the grafts will shed between 4 to 6 weeks leaving you looking similar to your before condition. If you experience shock loss, you may actually look worse before he look better. That's typical and normal so don't be afraid. That said, typically between four and months, you will see a good amount of growth that will continue to thicken and grow more full in the months to come. I do hope that he will keep us up to date on your progress so we can support you and also learn more about this clinic and the results they produce. Best wishes, Bill

Best wishes, Bill Without a doubt I'll continue to post about it as they seemed a really nice company and treated me so well but I guess the proof will be in the end results and will continue to post updates as now it's been only 5 weeks I've had so many messages regarding help from people on Facebook and it's really nice to be there for people something I never had and one guy is even going with the same company next week and I've asked him to keep me updated too
