Senior Member Dr. Richard Keller Posted January 13, 2016 Senior Member Share Posted January 13, 2016 40 year old patient who wished to have a limited/conservative FU hair restoration due to his family history of hair loss and his future hair loss progression. This patient wanted to improve his frontal hairline profile and thicken his crown. His objectives were obtained even though he has very fine, thin hair. A 2,000 FU graft restoration was performed. An extra 125 follicular units were obtained and given to the patient. There is a strong family history of hair loss. Photos shown are pre-op and one year post -op. Senior Member Dr. Richard Keller Posted January 21, 2016 Author Senior Member Share Posted January 21, 2016 Thank you sutureless, Mick50 & 911fan for your positive comments. Patients with thin, fine hair are more difficult to achieve the appearance of having density and cosmetic fullness of their hairline. Carefully staggering and angling the follicular units in their frontal framework is paramount in their appearance. When a patient has a strong family history of hair loss it is important to consider their future options and have a plan. The advantage that this patient has is less contrast between his natural hair color and the hue of his skin. Hair restoration procedures can never equal the follicular units lost, so evaluation of every patient's individual qualities are important so that their appearance looks natural.
