Regular Member Michael Vories, MD Posted December 18, 2015 Regular Member Share Posted December 18, 2015 Here is a six month follow up of a 2000 FUE case of using scalp hair to thicken a beard pattern. This was done in a one day session, using a 0.80 mm serrounded punch for harvesting, and Hans Lion Implanters for placement. All grafts harvested and placed by the physician. Senior Member harin Posted December 18, 2015 Senior Member Share Posted December 18, 2015 Nice result, in fact no difference can be detected between original beard and transplanted ones. Makes me wonder if the theory that transplanted hairs assume the characteristics of the hairs native to recipient region?. Nice work doctor. Administrators Melvin- Admin Posted December 18, 2015 Administrators Share Posted December 18, 2015 Wow this has definitely raised some questions, in reviewing the pictures I can't differentiate between the beard hair and scalp hairs, one would assume that it would be more detectable in the beard area since its on the face, so then the question becomes how effective can beard hair be in areas like the midscalp to increase density?
