Am i making the right choice... Dr Farjo

Hi Guys

i have spent close to 5 years reading these forums on and off and have finally taken a plunge to book a HT consultation, i once went to one 4 years ago in Manchester at "Transform" after he appeared on a CH4 show.

Any way i decided he wasn't the doctor for me, and was very persuasive towards a strip method which put me off, it should be making the choice really.

So in 2 weeks i am off to see Dr Farjo.

I have a few questions i just want people's advice on

1 - I can;t see to see many of Dr Farjo's stories on here, there are plenty from 2008 but nothing recent, has anyone used him before. And ideally is anyone based near West Yorkshire that has used him that could arrange to meet me .

2 - So many people say to me, Just shave your hair off you will get over it, has anyone actually just done this and thought, infact i look fine and just forgotten the whole HT idea?

I am of age 28, and are at a norwood 4 level(Crown and receding hair line)

I have been using nanogen for many years so i am of that stage now were i am to scared to just appear in public without it, so there will be a shock if i just shaved my hair off.

I just wan't peoples view's and opinons.

So many people here speak praise of HT's really, but does anyone think this was the worst decision of my life?

This is my first post, so please be gentle

If you are thinking about going to Farjo for FUE (which your post hints at being your prefered option) I would definitely recommend doing some more research as I haven't seen much FUE from him. Also he is not cheap, and I would suggest there are better surgeons (based on their published results) than him. First things first, are you going for FUT or FUE?

Hi

FUE (the NON strip method)

Ideally i want one based in the U.K to be honest.

His price is ?6 for 1000 grafts... ?3 after.. So i dont know how that compares to other's.

I have seen a lot of praise for Dr Farjo, just nothing recent that's my concern.

Apologies, I posted before I read your comment about your preference for FUE.

I did look at ferridini in belgium but he wouldnt touch me till i was 35, which seemed a bit ...wrong.. or is that correct?

Also he took 3 weeks to get back to me which put me off a little bit but i will keep digging around certainly anyway.

Thank you Mick!

Thank for the post there, can you just confirm my price expections are right( mentioned on my other comment)

Smash, yes that price is correct. However if you are able to be flexible with the date of the procedure, a reduction could be applied.

Having read your post, a lot of what you have said is the same as what i have gone through/experienced.

I first considered a hair transplant after seeing Transform on TV years ago. I did plenty of research and went to Transform for a consultation. Once i spoke to the Doctor, Mr Bhatty i think. I knew it was not the place for me to go. I had considered both FUT and FUE but decided on FUE. Mr Bhatty wanted to do FUT and the next minute I had a sales person trying to booking me in and pay a deposit. He recommended i had 900 grafts. This was much lower than other surgeons had said.

I then went to Farjo and met with Mick and Dr Farjo. It was a great clinic and i left feeling more confident in having a hair transplant. In the end my decision was made similar to you. I hadnt seen enough FUE results and people i have spoken to didnt realise i could have FUE with Farjo.

I looked into Belgium and went to see Jean Devroye. He informed me 2500 grafts would be suitable and i saw examples of his work and another guy having it done while i was there.

When I had my hair shaved I actually liked it, having never shaved my hair before.

I am now 7 months post op and have not worn Nanogen since my hair started to grow back after shedding.

NO worries, I am glad i can help and give advise to other people.

I also meant to include, I too did not really want to travel out of the UK. And Farjo is less than one hour away from me. I do think you should not limit yourself and look around Europe. Belgium was a short flight and it was not as bad as i thought flying back with my head how it was. Yes I had some odd looks but how i was feeling inside outweighed everything.

If you decide on Farjo then great, but i would keep your options open to find the right surgeon for your case.
