delm
Has anyone had seborrheic dermatitis occur on your scalp after your transplant? if so, how did you deal with it? I use T-gel shampoo, it doesn't seem to help much, only just for a couple of days..
Senior Member ZeoRanger Posted August 19, 2015 Senior Member Share Posted August 19, 2015 I hear nizoral would help. Check with your clinic before you use it though.
delm
thanks. I was looking into that shampoo but I read it treats dandruff not seborrheic dermatitis.
Senior Member ZeoRanger Posted August 19, 2015 Senior Member Share Posted August 19, 2015 Isn't dandruff a mild form of Seb. Dermatitis? I read it's used to treat both.

delm
Could be, I guess. I'd love to hear from anyone who had seborrheic dermatitis on their scalp after their transplant. I hear it can hurt the transplants.
Senior Member Mikey1970 Posted August 19, 2015 Senior Member Share Posted August 19, 2015 I use Ionil T daily & have done for over 20 years. It is tar based & fantastic for that type of condition. I also use Rogaine Foam daily & tend to use that as a mousse type product. That said, i wouldnt recommend using it for at least 10 days post transplant. My surgeon recommended i stop taking it for 10 days to ensure the grafts settle, for the first 10 days post op i used a very soft, organic shampoo & conditioner only...
