Senior Member TonyStark83 Posted July 29, 2015 Senior Member Share Posted July 29, 2015 I'm gonna enter into vacations in some days and it's gonna be almost 3.5 months after my FUE procedure. In that place I'm going to go there's a Casino and generally there's a lot of second smoking there. So does it can destroy the FUE results? Can it ruin/damage the hair follicles? I hate smoke and cigarettes, I've never smoke in my entire life and I generally avoid passive smoking. So how it's gonna be? Should I not worry about it? Should I avoid the casino at all costs? Should I go there just during some minutes per once? Thanks!
Senior Member pkipling Posted July 29, 2015 Senior Member Share Posted July 29, 2015 Absolutely nothing to worry about. Your grafts were secure long ago, and I don't see how there's any way that smoke from the air will have any effect on you at all. The worst that's going to happen is you're going to smell like cigarettes when you leave, and may walk out with less money than you walked in with.... On the other hand, you may win enough to ultimately pay for your hair transplant. I am a patient advocate for Dr. Parsa Mohebi in Los Angeles, CA. Senior Member voxman Posted July 30, 2015 Senior Member Share Posted July 30, 2015 My buddy is correct...no affect whatsoever. Don't sweat it. I won $700 on a penny machine in Phoenix last week. Cashed out and went back to my hotel!! I'm serious. Just look at my face. My Hair Regimen: Lather, Rinse, Repeat.
Senior Member TonyStark83 Posted July 30, 2015 Author Senior Member Share Posted July 30, 2015 (edited) In my country, Portugal, it's not allowed to smoke in closed and public places. So I really don't understand why Casinos seem to still be an exception. Edited July 31, 2015 by TonyStark83

Senior Member voxman Posted July 31, 2015 Senior Member Share Posted July 31, 2015 In the US, the individual States make their own rules for smoking in public places. Most states have banned it, but allow it in open air areas. Most Casinos not in Nevada or Atlantic City, are Native American owned and by law are Sovereign Nations unto themselves - so they are not subject to state laws. But the answer is the same - the 2nd hand smoke will not affect your hair (unless someone uses your head as an ashtray....) I'm serious. Just look at my face. Senior Member Britanium Posted July 31, 2015 Senior Member Share Posted July 31, 2015 Absolutely zero effect on your grafts. As others have mentioned there is absolutely no risk involved whatsoever.
Senior Member gillenator Posted July 31, 2015 Senior Member Share Posted July 31, 2015 Tony, I concur with everyone here. It won't harm your grafts. I was a former heavy smoker and I smoked right after all of my four procedures! Stupid I know, but I could not quit or should I say did not have enough motivation to quit until I was diagnosed with terminal stage lung cancer and lost my right lung!... Have not and will never smoke again... Gillenator Independent Patient Advocate I am not a physician and not employed by any doctor/clinic. Senior Member TonyStark83 Posted July 31, 2015 Author Senior Member Share Posted July 31, 2015 Thank you all for your responses! Well I was always very concerned about this because one of the things I ate most in this world is... smoking. I HATE IT! I never smoked and I always try to avoid second hand smoking. So it seems it causes zero effect to my hair. That makes me happy!
