Senior Member Fingers Crossed Posted March 8, 2010 Senior Member Share Posted March 8, 2010 I'm approximately 7 weeks post-op. I attended a funeral today and I wore I casual looking hat but at times I had to remove my hat for about a minute. Would minimal sun exposure at this point damage any grafts? I would estimate that my scalp was exposed for about 1-2 minutes max. Senior Member badger_01 Posted March 8, 2010 Senior Member Share Posted March 8, 2010 You'll be fine! I had exactly the same experience when I had my HT.I was outside for a very short time at about 6 weeks. No adverse effects. What you really need to watch out for is redness since that hair has not been exposed to alot of sun. Even at 6 months when i went out without a hat a few times, I noticed redness. At 18 months, i have no lingering effects from any of that. Good luck and good growing! - badger 3279 grafts with Dr Gabel - 06/12/08 My Hair Loss Website - Hair Transplant with Dr. Gabel
Senior Member Fingers Crossed Posted March 9, 2010 Author Senior Member Share Posted March 9, 2010 thanks badger...i wore one of those flat casual hats that older men wear. I looked like a complete idiot but I wasn't willing to risk damage. Thanks again My Hair Loss Website - HT with Dr. Hasson My Hair Loss Website - Hair Transplant with Dr. Hasson
Senior Member Megatron Posted March 9, 2010 Senior Member Share Posted March 9, 2010 do we really have to be that careful? I guess it wouldn't be good if we got a sunburn, but I would think a little sun would be good for you. Senior Member Fingers Crossed Posted March 9, 2010 Author Senior Member Share Posted March 9, 2010 Yea you're right Megatron, sunlight is a natural source of vitamin D so a little bit probably won't hurt.
