What would you do? Is it just me?

I'm a native to Reno, Nevada and there is only one hair transplant doctor here. Dr. Wesley Hall Sr. (AKROS HAIR RESTORATION)

 

His father was a reputable plastic surgeon in town and now his youngest son is a plastic surgeon too. 3 generations.

 

my doctor Dr. Hall senior was our hospitals chief of staff. I had no doubt that he had a great pedigree.

 

im still not sure if I'm a case where transplants just don't work or its my doctors fault.

 

After two procedures of 600 grafts each I have extremely low yield / density. Almost nothing.

 

Doctor wants to do it a third time, at no charge but I've lost hope and consider going to Dr. John Diep in San Francisco for repair.

 

I also have pitting at recipient site where my doctor claims it is just how my skin reacted and not his fault. He doesn't know why the grafts aren't taking.

 

Suggestions? Comments? Input is welcome

Yes you need a repair and no you should not go to the same doctor who caused the problem in the first place.

If the surgeon already screwed up twice I'd see someone else. It's not like Hasson and Wong/etc were the surgeons that did this result, it's just some unknown clinic and you only have so much hair.

From what I can see in the pic you have good quality hair no reason why you shouldn't get a great result, also it looks like it would be quite an easy one to fix compared to some I've seen, but yes definitely a different Doc

I find it weird that you were given 1200 grafts to cover temples which are a totally bald area, 600 on each side would give you so little coverage anyway. How long post op are you:?

I am about 2 years post op.

Originally it was only 600... After nothing grew in he did 600 more a year later.

accoridng to his calculations I only needed 600 to cover the area needed.

It sounds like you were extremely under quoted with 600 grafts

DO NOT GO THERE AGAIN. He is not good at hair transplants and is using you as practice. You may like him for other things he has done and that's fine, but you are in need of a hair transplant and he does not do them well. You wouldn't go to a foot surgeon if you need your tonsils removed even if it's the best foot surgeon in the country.

 

The temples are done completely wrong. He transplanted down to the temple points giving you a rounded down hairline. That is not a good design. It does not look like a normal hairline would look.... and that's not even getting into the issue of poor growth.
