castletron629
(I don't mean hair direction) My hair can be classified as wavy, but its really pretty straight with a bend to it. Each hair has sort of a "C" shape, but with less of a bend than an actual "C". Anyways, the hairs all grow out bent in the same general direction, and I wanted to know if doctors can take that into account when transplanting hair. I'm not talking about the direction (angle) in which they transplant each hair, i'm talking about the orientation each hair is transplanted so the waves of my hair all go in the same general direction. It would look weird if my hair grew out bending in all different directions. Even when I comb it to the side (as i usually do), there are usually one or two hairs that naturally grew in opposite direction as the rest and they always stick, or pop out even when I use hair product. I would hate to have a transplant and not be able to simply comb it to one side. Edit: Sorry if this was confusing to you, it's a very hard thing to describe in words. Senior Member KO Posted September 3, 2014 Senior Member Share Posted September 3, 2014 Yep, and this C shape is actually quite desirable, the term used is "wavy". 3382 FUE Lupanzula http://www.hairrestorationnetwork.com/eve/185463-3382-grafts-lupanzula.html
castletron629
Yep, and this C shape is actually quite desirable, the term used is "wavy". So you're saying they CAN transplant the hairs so the hairs "bends" are in the same direction? All too often I see transplants thats just don't look good because the hair looks like it has no natural direction to it...sort of just looks like a wire-y mess on the forelock of their head. This is what I am really worried about. I brush my hair to the side and it sort of naturally grows that way. I would hope to retain that look after the HT. Senior Member 1978matt Posted September 6, 2014 Senior Member Share Posted September 6, 2014 You mean the 'flow' of the hair. Yes, all the top guys take this into consideration and implant follicles based on the '(' shape of hair exiting them. The problem you are seeing is that transplanted hair grows in wiry to start with and takes up to 2 years to return to its original texture. Of course, most people don't come back to post after 12 months. 4,312 FUT grafts (7,676 hairs) with Ray Konior, MD - August 2013 1,145 FUE grafts (3,152 hairs) with Ray Konior, MD - August 2018 763 FUE grafts (2,094 hairs) with Ray Konior, MD - January 2020 Proscar 1.25mg every 3rd day
