Senior Member options Posted September 2, 2014 Senior Member Share Posted September 2, 2014 Hi, I'm considering FUT and I'd like to know more about the healing in the first couple of weeks after surgery, i.e. if the scars are visible, not from the donor area but where they have been transplanted. Could anyone share any photos 1 or 2 weeks after surgery? Thanks
Senior Member gillenator Posted September 2, 2014 Senior Member Share Posted September 2, 2014 options, If you go to some of the other categories of this forum community such as "Hair Restoration Results posted by Patients", that is where you will see more pics of results both right after surgery and multiple progress photos as well. Simply go back to the home page of the forum, and you will see the various forum categories there. BTW, whether FUHT or FUE, the recipient incisions are very small and heal very rapidly for the majority of HT patients. The only real exceptions to this would be if the surgeon is incompetent using inappropriate instruments or if the individual is prone to scarring and has other issues with healing, etc. Welcome to this community... Senior Member Garageland Posted September 3, 2014 Senior Member Share Posted September 3, 2014 Options, As well as that you can take a look at the patient websites under the Share with Patients tab at the top of this page. Many websites made by patients there. The recipient area incisions are very small these days at our clinic we use custom cut blades and as single hair grafts are placed into the hairline the resulting scab that is formed is very small. These scabs are encouraged to be all washed off around 10 -12 days post op. The scar will be hidden by your existing hair provided you leave it longer enough as all the donor area does not need to be shaved down for FUT. Take a look at my website as I have documented two FUT procedures on here Hair Restoration Site for garageland Let me know if I can help any further. --- Former patient and representative for Hasson & Wong.
