Senior Member aaalan Posted December 9, 2013 Senior Member Share Posted December 9, 2013 (edited) Hi Folks, How many grafts do you recommend I go for (both crown and temple)? Pictures below. Thanks in advance. Best, Alan Planning on a FUE (undecided where). Edited December 13, 2013 by aaalan Added more pics
Senior Member gillenator Posted December 9, 2013 Senior Member Share Posted December 9, 2013 If it were me, I would leave the crown alone for now and concentrate on the frontal core to reinforce the frontal third and also to fill in where there is recessionary loss where you are parting your hair above the lateral hump. Maybe start with a range of 2500 - 3000 grafts. Gillenator Independent Patient Advocate I am not a physician and not employed by any doctor/clinic. Senior Member hsrp10 Posted December 11, 2013 Senior Member Share Posted December 11, 2013 Agreed with the Gillenator, skip the crown for now and do around at least 3,000 grafts are you using Propecia at all for the crown btw? (not recommended you get on it just trying to figure that in the calculation) If you want to lower the hairline at all I would even go for 3,500. go dense or go home Unbiased advice and opinions based on 25 plus years of researching and actual experience with hair loss, hair restoration via both FUT & FUE, SMP, scalp issues including scalp eczema & seborrheic dermatitis and many others HSRP10's favorite FUT surgeons: *Dr. Konior, *Dr Hasson, Dr. Rahal HSRP10's favorite FUE surgeons: *Dr. Konior, *Dr. Bisanga, Dr. Erdogan, Dr. Couto (*indicates actual experience with doctor)
Senior Member aaalan Posted December 12, 2013 Author Senior Member Share Posted December 12, 2013 Hello hsrp10, I am not using Propecia or Rogaine. Thank you for your advice.
Senior Member lorenzo Posted December 12, 2013 Senior Member Share Posted December 12, 2013 Of course this all depends on a few factors. 1) How is your donor 2) Are you taking meds 3) Where do you want your hairline to be 4) What does the doctor you chose like to do more than 3000 grafts. 5) How old are you I tend to agree with most posters that I would leave the crown alone until your hairloss has stabilized. If you decide that you don't want to take meds than the crown will get bigger. Its may take 1 year it may take 15 years but it will get bigger. Probably in 2-4 years that area will probably double without meds (with the pictures you have shown a lot of your hair is miniaturized. My guess is your will need between 2500-4000 in the front depending on where you want to put the hairline. Representative for Hasson & Wong. Senior Member lorenzo Posted December 13, 2013 Senior Member Share Posted December 13, 2013 I just checked out your photos better. You are on your way to becoming a NW6 in my opinion. You should definitely consider using meds. What made you choose Colorado Hair Inst. other than price or location? I checked out there website and only saw one before and after picture. Mattuk that was a poster on here disappeared and hasn't posted on youtube in over 10 months. If I were you I would consider researching a bit more before you make this important decision. I am not saying they are bad but they claim they have over 25 years experience yet all that stands out other than one before and after picture is price. My advice is to be careful going bald is normal, getting an unnatural transplant isn't. Good luck on your choice. Representative for Hasson & Wong. Senior Member hsrp10 Posted December 13, 2013 Senior Member Share Posted December 13, 2013 If you are in NJ, there are top recommended docs in the New York area, and Dr. Rahal is short flight away in Toronto (as is Dr. Konior in Chicago if you decide to do FUT). Listen to Lorenzo and do not go to any clinic that is is not 1) highly recommended on this forum and 2) does not have numerous posted examples of great results. Be careful before proceeding based on location or price alone. go dense or go home Unbiased advice and opinions based on 25 plus years of researching and actual experience with hair loss, hair restoration via both FUT & FUE, SMP, scalp issues including scalp eczema & seborrheic dermatitis and many others HSRP10's favorite FUT surgeons: *Dr. Konior, *Dr Hasson, Dr. Rahal HSRP10's favorite FUE surgeons: *Dr. Konior, *Dr. Bisanga, Dr. Erdogan, Dr. Couto (*indicates actual experience with doctor)
