Regular Member Michael Vories, MD Posted July 26, 2013 Regular Member Share Posted July 26, 2013 36 year old male with stable hair loss for the past 5 years. Side effects with finasteride prevents treatment. He does use minoxidil foam each night and indicates he is consistent with this regimen. FUE case of 2000 grafts in Frontal Forelock and hairline. Patient has returned last week for continued grafting in the vertex. Unfortunately I do not have immediate post-op photos, included are before, 6 month post-op, and one year post-op photos. We are beginning to include hair breakdowns, but as this patient had his initial surgery one year ago, they are not available. We did use approximately 300 single hair FU's in the hairline . Senior Member agenteye Posted July 26, 2013 Senior Member Share Posted July 26, 2013 I think that the last row of photos showcases a nice improvement, but I would be curious to see his hair shorter to see what improvements were really made...... Long and combed over like the patient styles it does a nice job to mask the loss.......but I'd be curious to see other angles. If the patient is happy at the end of the day, that's what is really important!! Thanks for sharing the result Dr. V. 4737 FUT with Dr. Rahal on 11/16/2012 Daily regimen: 1/4 Proscar (1.25 mg Finasteride), Rogaine Foam (twice daily), 1000 mcg Biotin, 1 combo Vitamin D/Calcium/Magnesium, 1500 mg Glocosamine, 750 mg MSM, 1200 mg Fish Oil, 2000 mg Vitamin C, Super B-Complex, 400 I.U Vitamin E. Regular Member Michael Vories, MD Posted July 26, 2013 Author Regular Member Share Posted July 26, 2013 The first horizontal line is the before photos The second horizontal line is photos at six months The bottom row is the after photos at one year. Hope this clears the confusion. Dr. Mike Vories is recommended on the Hair Transplant Network
Senior Member agenteye Posted July 26, 2013 Senior Member Share Posted July 26, 2013 Based on the density in the middle row, and the lack of hair altogether in the first row.....I was kind of figuring this must be the case. In that case, I think this was a very nice result. The patient should be very pleased! Nice work Dr. V. 4737 FUT with Dr. Rahal on 11/16/2012 Daily regimen: 1/4 Proscar (1.25 mg Finasteride), Rogaine Foam (twice daily), 1000 mcg Biotin, 1 combo Vitamin D/Calcium/Magnesium, 1500 mg Glocosamine, 750 mg MSM, 1200 mg Fish Oil, 2000 mg Vitamin C, Super B-Complex, 400 I.U Vitamin E. Senior Member greatjob Posted July 27, 2013 Senior Member Share Posted July 27, 2013 The yield seems to be lacking in my honest opinion... I don't see how you can make that assumption from the pictures. It was only 2000 grafts and made a good change, but with the hair much longer post op I don't see how you could determine if the yield was great or just ok. Senior Member Mickey85 Posted July 27, 2013 Senior Member Share Posted July 27, 2013 The hairline looks sparse. The lighting is not consisent either. Senior Member TakingThePlunge Posted July 27, 2013 Senior Member Share Posted July 27, 2013 In my opinion, this is a very pleasing result with a relatively small number of grafts.
