What if a cure became available after HT?

Hi guys.

I'm considering a HT and have been wondering something. Excuse me if this is a stupid question but, after having a hair transplant, what would happen in the unlikely event that a cure for MPB were released that reactivated the dormant DHT sensitive follicles situated in the recipient area of the hair transplant? Would they just grow alongside the HT hairs resulting in stupidly high density?

I realise this happening is extremely unlikely, so I'm not holding out high hopes for a cure or anything, I'm just generally wondering.

A hair transplant provides mainly an "illusion of density", so if a real 100% cure were to happen I think real density regained...not an illusion would be welcomed by most.

I dont see the big 100% cure around the corner....so it's kind of like always waiting and waiting for the next version of the i-phone or new computer and never buying one....you can only wait so long watching life fly by....and none of us really know how much time we have left.

Bloom,

This question has come up before, and I think most people agree with Shampoo's opinion. It's likely that a hair transplant would still allow for a good amount of revitalized follicles to grow normally through the scalp.

However, please remember that future treatments, while exciting, are not tangible, and most experts do not recommend delaying current therapy in favor of potential future treatments. Because hair loss is a progressive condition, it simply doesn't make much sense!

If you have a doctor that is making small incisions, the chances of it actually damaging a follicle is minimal just based on the amount of follicles and area of skin without follicles. Your follicles are still there and if an actual cure came, your missing hair would still grow, so, no big deal, don't sweat it,
