Regular Member LookingToLearn Posted March 26, 2013 Regular Member Share Posted March 26, 2013 Is NW II the same as a mature hairline, or is it actual hairloss? Opinions seem to differ on this; I've seen people say NW3 is the first REAL stage of baldness, with NW 1 being no loss and NW 2 being simply a mature hairline. Senior Member chrisdav Posted March 26, 2013 Senior Member Share Posted March 26, 2013 I see this question brought up often and I think the problem is down to the definition of baldness via the Norwood scale. 2 poor unsatisfactory hair transplants performed in the UK. Based on vast research and meeting patients, I travelled to see Dr Feller in New York to get repaired.
Senior Member Spanker Posted March 26, 2013 Senior Member Share Posted March 26, 2013 yes, it is all subjective. I personally say 2.5 is the first stage of baldness and the a NW2 is found on many men that never progress further, but it seems like most NW2.5's (like me) or above will always seem to progress in baldness, only some do it extremely slowly. Regular Member Since13 Posted March 27, 2013 Regular Member Share Posted March 27, 2013 I agree that the Norwood scale is sometimes misleading and vague. But I think that Norwood 1 to 2.5 on this scale can be categorized according to the measurements of their forehead, in relation to their facial features.
