Redness at 2 month post-op!

Hi guys,

 

I attach here some pictures that shows red small circles and general redness in my receipt area. I am now at 2 months post-op and I would appreciate your help if you can tell me is this redness is normal or what shall I do? Moreover, I have noticed that my scalp is too oily how to reduce it and does it has a relation with the redness points?

I'm just approaching the 3 month mark and still have redness.

 

There seems to be no pattern to this, as the results vary enormously from patient to patient, and from patients of the same Doctor - some patients looking good within 4 weeks, others stretching it out to months.

 

Skin tone seems to be a major factor - I have light to medium skin tone, with a red-ish hue at times. The number of grafts seems to matter as well (I only have anecdotal evidence for this - the more you have, the longer it takes to go away).

 

In me, it is fading, but slowly. Maybe in another 6 weeks it will be back to normal for me.

 

Just something else we have to tough-out.

I had my ht 6 weeks ago and I still have redness. It is getting better as the days go by. Hang in there.

5 months, 2 weeks, 6 days. I still have redness, but it's finally on the way out

Just over two months out. Just a tiny bit of redness remaining. My scalp is not oily, it's actually extremely dry. Kind of bugging me at this point.

The small circles of redness is called folliculitis and you should get them treated by your ht physician. Send them the same pics and let them know when it started. They should have a protocol on treatment so keep them updated until it's fully resolved. Folliclulits is not the same as general redness patients endure post operatively. It's an infection of the follicle and should be treated.

Thank you all, I really appreciate it. Janna thank you for your post and advice, I've already sent the pics and waiting for their reply. I am currently using Nanogen, so do you think it can cause such an infection?!! Is is possible that I have a damaged follicles that wont grow up again? If there is something that may help please let me know.

I am still looking for their reply and start to get worried about these "folliculitis"

Did you email and call or just email them? While waiting, apply a hot wash cloth to the affected area several times a day. It'll help draw up the puss like lesion to the surface. Take a clean pin and lance it. Apply an antibiotic ointment (bacitracin) right after.
