In need of advice about which clinic/doctor ?

Hi Everyone,

I am new in this platform. I have a 3-year hair loss especially on my temples, also some on the middle and the corners at the back which are clear to be realized at a look. I have not used any medicine except shampoos which I used after some suggestions I took but they didn't have much affect to stop hair loss. And for months I couldn't deal with it at all because of my busy work periods.

For several days, I have searching about hair transplantation, especially with fue technique. I did some reading from this forum and noted some doctors and clinics. But I think I need some personal advice, Is there anyone to help me to choose a doctor/clinic? And is there anywhere on the web in which I can find the exact prices of all?

I am waiting for your replies,

Daborvan

I would start here:

Interviews with our recommended hair transplant physicians

After browsing these videos you may be able to narrow your choices and also learn a lot about modern hair transplantation.

I would not limit yourself to only the doctors near you.

Dr. Dow Stough - 1000 Grafts - 1996

Dr. Jerry Wong - 4352 Grafts - August 2012

Dr. Jerry Wong - 2708 Grafts - May 2016

There are some really good world class hair transplant surgeons, so you will have to study the videos, read the message board, contact a few clinics and look for clues for which doctor may be the best fit for you.

I have had two hair transplants. In August 2012 I flew from Texas to Vancouver, BC to have Dr. Jerry Wong perform a large hair transplant. I chose Doctor Wong because of his clinic's reputation, his willingness to do large sessions, as well as I felt he produces some outstanding crown results, I can't say enough about the professionalism, deep staff, and wonderful experience I had at Hasson & Wong, but there are other great doctors out there as well.

I suggest only using a doctor that does hair transplantation on a full time basis and not someone that "dabbles" in hair transplant surgery. You want a doctor that is passionate about hair transplantation, a doctor that does several hair transplant surgeries a week, every week. Full time hair transplant doctors are more likely to have skilled technicians and staffing that are specialized in the field.

Don't limit yourself to only doctors near you. You want the best. This is something you will have to live with the rest of your life. Some people think nothing of flying across country to Disney World for a one time experience but seem reluctant to fly cross country to ensure a great surgical result that will last a lifetime. Think of a plane ticket and a couple nights in a hotel as well worth being with the best world renowned surgeons.

My personal list of top North American doctors would be:

Hasson & Wong (Vancouver)

Dr. Rahal (Ontario)

Dr. Feller (New York)

Dr. Ron Shapiro (Minnesota)

Dr. Arocha (Texas)

Dr. Charles (Florida)

Dr. Lindsey (Virginia)

And several others.......

Dr. Dow Stough - 1000 Grafts - 1996

Dr. Jerry Wong - 4352 Grafts - August 2012

Dr. Jerry Wong - 2708 Grafts - May 2016

Thank you so much for your informative message Shampoo ! :) I've seen Rahal's Feller's Shapiro's name several times while searching on the net and some of their works. I can travel anywhere for this issue because I am aware of the fact that that is something, as you said, I will live with it in the rest of life.

A couple of minutes ago I bumped into a turkish doctor called Dr Keser, I saw there are very few patients of this doc in the forum, not many as other doctors'. II've looked at his web-site. There is some information about his procedure. There are not many feedbacks, but the available ones are all good. Where can I get more information about this doc?

Thanks in advance again.

Dr.Keser has had some great results, you would be fine there, as do others in Turkey. If Turkey is an option, i can help you, having had a successful FUE procedure in Istanbul 4 months ago at very reasonable cost.

Don't be put off by the 'non flashy' websites, some surgeons are too busy working to constantly update them and are often not web professionals. After all, they specialise in HT's not web design.

I am in Europe Shampoo, Sweden. But I can travel everywhere for this issue I think. Will you give advice according to my location ?

I don't know that much about him, but some of the work I've seen from Dr. Jean Devroye in Belgium appears to be quite good. I suggest looking at his interviews, study his web-site, see if you can talk to some of his patients, also do a Google search under his name and watch videos of him and his work. In the last week someone posted some pictures of his work on this message board that I thought looked outstanding. People like Dr. Bijan Feriduni in Belgium as well. Take a look at him too.

Next I would do some additional homework and try to narrow your list down to about 3-5 top surgeons and then begin contacting those "finalist" clinics for on-line consults, Q&A communications, and you should start getting a feel for who might be the best fit for you.

i have seen many ppl coming to india for fue...as good docs r available here at very low cost compared to other places...this is the reasoning given by them...

i got my fue done by dr tejinder bhatti from chandigarh last week..i met 2 patients there..1 from austria another from dubai...most of his patients r from outside india...u can hv a look at his work..i hv been told that coming to india and getting ht done is more cost effective than getting it done there...

personally speaking i really liked his work..he is vry enthusiastic about his work...he is a full time surgeon..doing a transplant almost everyday..infact he ws so booked that i cudnt get a date within 13 days..i found the technical staff also very cordial and jovial..

I can't stress this enough... Go to Turkey.

The flights are relatively cheap from where you are, the procedures and results are top class (search for my blog thread on here for details) and the price is cheaper than the majority of others available.

For example, i had 2,800 FUE and the price was GBP 4,500 including flights, accommodation, procedure, medication and after care. The results are fantastic with no side effects, problems, scarring or loss of yield.

The private hospital was the best i've ever seen, the surgical team were ultra professional and only wanted the best results for me and the hotel/city is fantastic.

It's a no brainer really.
