Senior Member SADbutTRUE Posted September 28, 2012 Senior Member Share Posted September 28, 2012 nice result, lucky guy to be in mid 40s and have minimal loss. great scar . why wasnt trichophytic closure used ? when trichophtic closure is used , is inner absorable sutures used as well ? is one better then the other for making a thinner scar double layer closure or trichophytic closure ? thanks for reading, and good work by doc. and staff. Senior Member chrisdav Posted September 28, 2012 Senior Member Share Posted September 28, 2012 Nice work Janna. 2 poor unsatisfactory hair transplants performed in the UK. Based on vast research and meeting patients, I travelled to see Dr Feller in New York to get repaired.
Senior Member Janna Posted September 28, 2012 Author Senior Member Share Posted September 28, 2012 Thanks Chris and Sad. Sad, The inner layer closure can be done with or without tricho closure. This patient did have a tricho closure. I didn't mention it because it's a standard technique we do on just about every patient. If there is scar tissue remaining from previous strip surgeries, it wouldn't make sense to trim away tissue for hairs to grow through because there aren't any hairs in scars but if there are hairs, tricho technique is performed. Senior Member Janna Posted October 1, 2012 Author Senior Member Share Posted October 1, 2012 Thanks Aaron and Orlhair. He is really happy with his result. When I first saw him he was smiling from ear to ear so I said, "you must be happy with your results?". He replied, " Yea, I have hair again!". His donor scar is awesome. I'm just as impressed with his almost non-existent scar as I am with hair.
