Senior Member ILikeMyHair Posted September 7, 2012 Senior Member Share Posted September 7, 2012 (edited) Had my surgery done On March 7, 2012 with Dr. Wong. Finally reached the 6 month mark. Hair looks OK, but density is lacking on the right side. Left side looks good. More hair were transplanted on the right side than on the left side because I was missing more hair on the right side. I really hope by 11 month mark the right side will become as dense as the left side and hairline will look more natural. The pictures below are the ones before HT, Right after HT, 4 months after HT, and 6 months after HT. The last picture shows the scar after 4 month. It's very thin and barely visible. I'm very happy about the scar. I would rank the surgery 7/10 at the moment because of lack of density. Hopefully after 10 months to a year, it will be 10/10 Go to my profile to see more pictures. Senior Member TakingThePlunge Posted September 7, 2012 Senior Member Share Posted September 7, 2012 ILikeMyHair, I think your hair is coming along very nicely. It's perfectly normal for one side to fill in before the other and I'm sure you'll see it evening out as time goes on. Best of luck! Regular Member MIKIEB Posted September 7, 2012 Regular Member Share Posted September 7, 2012 Hello likemyhair, the same thing happend to me.only difference is my right side looked better then mt left. I mean my ht looked just like yours.we even have the same amount of grafts.today is 6months for me.i can tell you that the 6th month my ht has evened out nicely. Its still uneven but you have to really look at it good to tell.if you do some research you will find that this is common.i know how you feel.i was worried that it may remain like that..try not to think about it and take comfort in the fact that you still have many months of growing ahead ..feel free to email me if you have any further questions.i know how it feels..take care
Regular Member MIKIEB Posted September 8, 2012 Regular Member Share Posted September 8, 2012 Hello ilikemyhair, its really way too early to worry about it right now.last month i asked the question to members up untill how many months did people see new hair sprouting.the reason i ask is because of what you are going through right now..hoping that there were enough months left for my left side to catch up to my right.i only got one reply and he said 10 months ..i also research it on my own and came up with about the same 10 months..with that being said you still have plenty of time to still get a great result.. Mine did not really start untill 4 months .. Remember you see your self everyday so it makes it hard to tell..i play in a monthly card game with people i only see once a month.they are the ones i get my best feedback from cause they only see me once a month..the point i am making is you may not be noticing improvement cause you see it every day.. Hang in there.thats all any of us could do.. Take care

Regular Member DV8 Posted March 14, 2013 Regular Member Share Posted March 14, 2013 In images 4 & 5 it appears you had transplants in the top of your head too is that right? I ask because this whole "shave your head" thing H&W suggest on their site is freaking me out. My temples are already bald, but I don't want to shave the top (or any area really!). I am wondering if you had to shave any parts -- b/c from your pictures it doesn't look like you did?
Senior Member ILikeMyHair Posted March 14, 2013 Author Senior Member Share Posted March 14, 2013 Dr. Wong did shave my hair where the transplant was done. He didn't shave the whole head. The part that you see as dark red in img 4 and 5 was shaved. I had long hair so I was able to cover it up and I didn't have a large are to transplant on. However, on my second time I went back to Dr. wong for a touch up and he placed 450 grafts near my temple and this time he didn't shave. He needs to shave the area so he can better figure out how to place the grafts so they look natural. You can talk to him and see if he'll need to shave it for you. If it's >1500 grafts I think he'll probably shave.
Santeria
Can you please post some recent pics? Just curious as to what the result looks like since yours is exactly the same case as mine.
